Author: Halie Fewkes
(May contain Spoilers)
Synopsis:
Secrets of the Tally book 2
Ebby didn't know she was the new Human Epic until the day she was captured, stuck with the new Escali Epic, Vack, and told to be friends with him. They're the two most piwerful kids in the world, destinedto be enemy combatantslike every Epic before them, but they've been imprisoned together in hopes they might resolve some of their differences. Unfortunately, Vack would rather push Ebby out a window than befriend her, while Ebby thinks Vack is a barbarian who might eat her, and the result is chaos.
Allie and Archie are thrown into the tray when they're asked to help a team of brutal hunters find and rescue Ebby. Archie makes recovering the Epic a priority, but Allie couldn't be pulled any harder in the opposite direction. Rescuing a little girl sounds like the right thing to do, but leaving Ebby in the hands of the Escalis has a different appeal. IfEbby and Vack could grow and choose not to waste their lives fighting one another, they could change the course of the entire Human Escali war.
Review:
This book picks up where book one left off, and even filling in blanks where book one could not. I loved following Allie and Archie's story, and with the element of Ebby and Vack's as well.
Ebby has been taken from the humans, not even realizing herself that she was the next Epic. But she was taken to try and curb the war that has been raging for years. Even if it will only by a few years of peace, that had to be better than more years of war, right? But Ebby and Vack couldn't stand one another, and will likely kill each other before working together.
Allie has yet again been thrown into a impossible decision. Does she choose the human side, and try to save Ebby, bringing the human Epic back, or does she choose the side of the Escalis and let Ebby be to hopefully end the war that has been going on for decades? Depending on her choice it could mean life or death, for more than just herself.
I throughly enjoyed this book, and cannot wait for book 3! These books are full of adventure, battles of power, strength, and wit, and more. I give this book 5⭐ out of 5⭐.
