If there’s one thing Famine is good at, it’s cruelty. And how these blighted bastards deserve it. Try as he might, he can’t forget what they once did to him. But when Ana, a ghost from his past, corners him and promises pain for what he so recently did to her, she and her empty threats captivate him, and he decides to keep her around.

In spite of themselves, Ana and Famine are drawn to each other. But at the end of the day, the two are enemies. Nothing changes that. Not one kind act, not two. And definitely not a few steamy nights. But enemies or reluctant lovers, if they don’t stop themselves soon, heaven will.

So if you guys didn't know, I have been binging the Four Horsemen series by Laura Thalassa, and loving it! I cannot wait for Death's story!!! (Seriously, I am dying to get my hands on it!!)

As with the other two Horsemen, Famine makes his appearance upon Earth. Famine is good at cruelty- learning from the worst of the humans. 

Ana meets him twice. The second time she was stabbed and left for dead by the Horsemen, without so much a glimmer of recognition, or remorse from the Horsemen. Only Ana doesn't stay dead. She meets him a third time, promising pain for what she endured at his hands. Her and her threats captivate him, so Famine decides to keep her around. Ana and the Horsemen are enemies drawn together, and more then just the Hunger for Vengeance stirs inside Famine. But if they don't stop what they are doing heaven itself may just have to interfere. 

I loved Famine. He was dark, cold, and cruel- more so then his brothers before him, with every reason to be. He was broken by the very thing he was set out to destroy, in more ways then one. But one human shows him in ounce of kindness. 

Ana was also shown the true nature's of the humans she lived in a world with. But she didn't let her surroundings break her. She came out strong, with a sharp tongue. The two together, an unlikely pair. But together they thrived. They fought every step of the way, Ana pushing Famine's buttons, testing him every kilometer they spent together. 

I loved this book, and the back & forth between the characters. I cannot wait to see what else Laura has in store with the next novel. 4.5 ⭐ out of 5 ⭐.

She has a terrible and terrifying future ahead of her, watching the world burn town by town, city by city, and the man responsible for it all is her unstoppable husband. But War also has another side to him. Where he is dead-set on winning Miriam over. The side that is loving and gentle... And Miriam my not be able to resist. But love and war cannot coexist with one another, so now Miriam is faced with an impossible choice- to surrender and watch the world as she knows it fall around her, or sacrifice everything to try and stop War. 

This book takes place a few years after the end of Pestilence. The Horsemen War comes to Earth to end mankind. He is violent, imposing, and strikes fear into all who see him. He doesn't concede much, but what little he gives, he gives to Miriam. Miriam lived alone in the city. She made weapons to sell so she could survive. She was a fighter, a survivor- but she didn't agree with War slaughtering those around her. She was brave, but even she feared the Horseman. And yet, to her he was kind. But was his kindness enough for Miriam to surrender everything she believed in? 

I enjoyed this book much like the last, and cannot wait to read the next. 4 ⭐ out of 5⭐.
