Review: Flock

Title: Flock
Series: Ravenhood Duet
Author: Kate Stewart
Release Date: July 31

𝘾𝙖𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙠𝙚𝙚𝙥 𝙖 𝙨𝙚𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙩?
I grew up sick.
Let me clarify.
I grew up believing that real love stories include a martyr or demand great sacrifice to be worthy.
Because of that, I believed it, because I made myself believe it, and I bred the most masochistic of romantic hearts, which resulted in my illness.
When I lived this story, my own twisted fairy tale, it was unbeknownst to me at the time because I was young and naïve. I gave into temptation and fed the beating beast, which grew thirstier with every slash, every strike, every blow.
Triple Falls wasn’t at all what it seemed, nor were the men that swept me under their wing. But in order to keep them, I had to be in on their secrets.
Secrets that cost us everything to keep.
That’s the novelty of fiction versus reality. You can’t re-live your own love story, because by the time you’ve realized you’re living it, it’s over. At least that was the case for me and the men I trusted my foolish heart to.
Looking back, I’m convinced I willed my story into existence due to my illness.
𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘱𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘩𝘦𝘥.

Oh my Goodness! I am here at a lost for words. I don't even know what to say about this book.
What drew me into this book was the series name. I don't know why but I absolutely LOVE Ravens and black birds. And these covers are GORGEOUS.
This book wasn't what I initially expected, but Kate has a way of blowing those expectations out of the water. And I loved every single minute of it.
Cecelia grew up as a responsible wallflower. She wasn't out going like her mother or best friend. She was good at being good. She also grew up believing that real love stories demand a sacrifice to be worthy. So when she finds herself at her father's house for a year, a complete stranger to her, she decides to live a little. Within the day of arriving she caught the eye of one of the local hotties. He was all man.
He took her in, showing her things she never would have thought of. Triple Falls was a town that wasn't what it seemed. In a world full of secrets, Cecelia must hold her own... It's sink or swim, but Cecelia's twisted fairy tale may have just doomed them all...
I loved this book. It was a dark world full of secrets and secure and scandalous interactions between the characters. It was hot in more ways then one, the characters... We're just more.
Cecelia was only nineteen. Her life wasn't easy, but she grew up believing certain things. When she met the men of Triple Falls they challenged her beliefs.
Sean was more easy going. An outdoorsy type, loving to hike and spend his days outdoors, tiring himself out. He was sweet and affectionate when he wanted to be.
Dominic was more of an introvert. He loved his books, and music, and could work his way around a computer.
Both men were MORE than what they seemed. And both men held many secrets. Where Sean was affectionate, Dominic was a dick. But they shared a bond with each other. And Cecelia was infatuated with them and their lives, caught in the middle.
If you love hot steamy sex, secrets and mystery then you definitely need to pick up this book! I am now dying to get my hands on book two to find out what happens next! 4.5 all-consuming ⭐ out of 5⭐.

Can you live a lie?

It’s a ghost town, this place that haunts me, the one that made me.

It’s clear to me that I’ll never outgrow Triple Falls or outlive the time I spent here.

I can still feel them all, my boys of summer.

Even when I’d sensed the danger, I gave in.

I didn’t heed a single warning. I let my sickness, my love, both rule and ruin me. I played my part, eyes wide open, tempting fate until it delivered.

There was never going to be an escape.

All of us are to blame for what happened. All of us serving our own sentences. We were careless and reckless, thinking our youth made us indestructible, exempt from our sins, and it cost us all.

I’m done pretending I didn’t leave the largest part of me between these hills and valleys, between the sea of trees that hold my secrets.

It’s the reason I’m back. To make peace with my fate.

And if I can’t grieve enough to cure myself in my time here, I’ll remain sick. That will be my curse.

But it’s time to confess, to myself more so than any other, that I’d hindered my chances because of the way I was built, and because of the men who built me.

At this point, I just want to make peace with who I am, no matter what ending I get.

Because I can no longer live a lie.

“I thought I knew who I was, but I was wrong.”
The Silver Swan
- 1. A girl who is tarnished. Tainted. One who does not fit into the confinement of legend.
The Silver Swan
-2. Madison Montgomery.
I was lied to.
I was cheated.
Resigned to pick up the scraps of empty memories and disarrayed thoughts, I left. After finally cutting the strings of manipulation, I resorted to do what I’ve done since I was a child, something my father drilled into my brain since I could handle my first rifle.
Run.
I’m a mere shadow of the girl they all knew.
Lies and deceit change you. They alter your entire outlook on life.
I’m Madison Montgomery, and I want to play a game.
Here’s what happens when I win.
Riddle me this, Mads.
What goes bump in the night,
but is something you can’t see with sight?
You may run, and you may hide.
If by happily ever after, you mean Bonnie & Clyde.

Broken Puppet picks up where Silver Swan left off, so you Must Read Silver Swan first.
Still so many secrets and deceptions and a tangled web, but the more you read, the more you learn about the characters.
Madison Montgomery thought she knew who she was, until she found out she was the Silver Swan, someone who is tarnished. She has been lied to and cheated and deceived her whole life, so now she is making the rules. She ran.
But it isn't long before she's dragged back to the world she tried to leave behind. But now Madison is playing by her rules. And this time she will win.
Madison has been slowly learning about the world of the Elite. She doesn't just blindly follow orders but instead questions everything, and when pushed she pushes back.
Bishop is head of the Elite. He's an alphahole through and through. His world is full of secrets, lies, and deceit, and there is an order to how things are done. And none of that will change for just anyone. So when Madison pushes for answers, Bishop pushes right back.
Their relationship has been explosive and dangerous. But neither can seem to quit the other.
If you love dark books that will leave you guessing, and as much in the dark as the main character/s then you need to read these books. 4⭐ out of 5⭐.

“I am neither dead, nor alive, and I’m not something little Madison can hide.
But you will be dead, by the time this is done...
the timer starts now, and the games have just begun…”

When Madison gains the attention of their leader, Bishop Vincent Hayes, a whole new world that she didn't think existed is exposed to her. A whole world that starts and ends with The Elite Kings Club and these boys, are about to flip her world upside down. Secrets are overflowing and family lies are about to be exposed. Is there more to Madison Montgomery than even she knows?

Review:

So I just finished Silver Swan and all I can say is... WHAT?!
If you love dark, suspenseful, mysterious romances then you need to grab these books! Why haven't I started them sooner? I have no idea, but I cannot wait to dove back into this world, with Broken Puppet!
Madison Montgomery is the new girl in school. Besides being in a new town, new school she finds out she now has a step brother who has laid his eyes on her and now decides it's his job to babysit her. To top it all off, she grabbed the attention of the Elite Kings- the bad boys at school who are legends, in more ways then one. The Elite Kings are not what they seem. And Madison has to figure out what is fact and what is pure myth.
The Elite Kings consist of Madison's new step brother and his friends and their brothers. And Bishop has his eyes set on Madison. Bishop is brooding, secretive, and doesn't do relationships.
Madison has never stayed in one place for long, her dad always moving her from place to place, never settling down. So when she ends up at the Hamptons, she is finally homing she is where she can call home. Tired of the moving, and looking to settle down, she actually makes friends- and whatever Nate's friends are.
The Elite Kings like to play their games, and everyone else are just pawns on their chess board. But what happens if Madison loses the game she doesn't even realize she's apart of?
Seriously, I have no idea what took me so long to read this book, but WOW. If you love dark books filled with secrets, and lies then you need to read the Elite Kings. 4.5 sick and twisted game⭐ 's out of 5⭐.

Review: the Dark Side series

Series: the Dark Side
Author: Kristy Cunning

Title: Four Psychos
GR: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/36550871-four-psychos

Blurb:

I'm not so different from most people.
Like everyone else, I have life goals.

Goal #1: Become a real girl instead of this invisible ghost thing I currently am.

Goal #2: Convince the four men I've been haunting for the past five years to pick me to be their new toy after goal one is complete.

Goal #3: Figure out who/what I am and why I can't remember anything past the five years I've been haunting this quad.

Goal #4: Eat popcorn.

See? Perfectly normal. Sort of.
Gotta start small, after all.
It's not like anyone else is perfect either.

**Sexual situations
**Reverse Harem
**Dark humor galore
**Language warning

REVIEW:

So I don't normally do a review for a series instead of each book individually, but with these books I just couldn't put them down!
These books MUST be read in order. And I'm sorry that it has taken me Soo long to read them. They are currently NOT available via amazon- but you might still be able to grab them via audible if you have it.
Also this is a dark, reverse harem paranormal romance series.

Paca is a ghost who has been looking on the lives of four roommates for the past few years hoping to become a real girl. She has a list of goals she would like to accomplish. One being to be with the four guys she's watched constantly. Then to find out who or what she is and last, to eat popcorn. Perfectly normal.

This book was amazing. Not only did it have four incredibly hot psychos, and a lost girl thrown into the mix, but there was also sooo much more than just the lust of the characters. It was a angsty and fast paced read, that had me on the edge of my seat needing more, which I dived into the rest of the series immediately after finishing this one!
Not only are you thrown into the mix with them, but you are also trying to figure out what is going on with them in the thick of things. This book had suspense and mystery and action. This book was definitely a whirlwind.
5 insanely dark ⭐ out of 5 ⭐.

PS- do not continue reading if you don't want to be spoiled of the rest of the series.

Title: Three Trials
GR:  https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/36839899-three-trials

Blurb:

So, I've checked off some life goals and added a few new ones to my list.

Goal #5: Get out of hell's belly without letting my ungrateful charges die.

Goal #6: Get a new name that's more badass.

Goal #7: Stop wasting my breath on lectures and start annoying the quad hell squad every time they annoy me. Fight fire with fire. Ha! Another hell pun.

Goal 8: Find out who the hell killed me.

I'll add more. I don't want to overwhelm myself before I even finish checking off my old goals. But seriously, I really do need a more badass name, considering how much I have to keep saving my damsels in distress.

I probably shouldn't call them damsels, since they're a little murderous and all.

Maybe I should add seeing a hell-certified psychologist to my list of goals.

**Sexual situations/content
**Reverse Harem
**Dark humor galore
**Language warning

REVIEW:

Paca has been slowly checking off the goals from her list. She still has no memory of who she is or where she came from, but she knows that she is fiercely protective of the four men she landed in the middle of. Even if they don't appreciate her as much as she would like.
This book picks up where the first ends, and everything is taken up a notch. The angst has given away to steamy sex scenes, the danger more prominent then before, and the suspense hitting an all time high as the four murderous psychos and lost girl race to find the answers they have been seeking. This book is hot and fast paced and had me falling deeper into the trace of all the four men had to offer. And I still wanted more.
5 steamy ⭐ out of 5 ⭐.

Title: Two Kingdoms
GR: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/40667614-two-kingdoms

Blurb:

I'm getting a little tired of completing my goals, only to have the bar raised too substantially for me to transition at a productive pace...
I started off as a sad little ghost with an impossible crush on four really hot, Gothic guys with some attitude problems. Now I'm The Apocalypse, they're the Four Horsemen, and Lucifer is my fucked up daddy. Now my additional goals look like this?

Goal #9: Make a deal with the Devil without getting cheated, manipulated, or tricked.

Goal #10: Make my boys love me and take over the world...okay...so maybe just that first part. That second part sounds like it could take too much ambition, and I just don't have the drive for that.

Goal #11: Make cookies.

Goal #12: Call dibs on my favorite color.

Goal #13: Find out if my siblings or my father killed me and my boys...

**Sexual Content
**Dark humor
**Reverse Harem
**Language warning

REVIEW:

Paca finally learns some truth in who she had her psychos really are. She went from being a lonely, horny ghost crushing on four hot guys, to being The Apocalypse with her Four Horsemen, and the daughter to Lucifer himself in such a short while. Now, she must try to make a deal with the devil without being manipulated or tricked. And try to get the four wicked psychos to fall in love with her. Neither will be easy tasks. But everyone knows, Paca tries to aim for the impossible.
As the men and their lost girl learn more about who they are they struggle with the details. They have always stuck together and she has come and tried to weasel her way in and always up to scheming and games that the four have no idea what to do with her anymore, even if they can't resist her. Between wanting to ring her neck, and fucking her into submission they have the impossible task of learning their true nature and trying to harness their powers.
Just like the other books, this one was hot but so much more than just the sex. It had a power struggle of epic proportions, and suspense and forbodding of what is to come.
Another 5 wicked ⭐ out of 5 ⭐.

Title: One Apocalypse
GR: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/37541303-one-apocalypse

Blurb:

The life goals have stacked up since I started this journey as a sad, lonely little ghost. I’m not sure how things escalated so quickly from trying to be seen and heard, to bearing the weight of the world on my vain little shoulders.
As a result, my goals have gotten a little more serious…

Goal #14: Learn to take a hit without breaking or suffering some type of death.

Goal #15: Decide once and for all if I’m going to save or destroy the world. I’m not sure why people put this sort of responsibility on hell-spawn like me.

Goal #16: Practice my evil laugh, because all hell-spawn need a good evil laugh.

Goal #17: Find and kill all the unicorns. Mwahahahahaha.

Goal #18: Live to enjoy forever with the guys I sacrificed all my memories to save.

Goal #19: No matter what, they don’t get to die. Or I really will be THE Apocalypse.

We’re the most screwed up collection of antiheroes the world has ever seen, because the only thing that makes me want to save the world is knowing I could lose my boys forever if I don’t. It’s one HELL of a love story, you know?

**Sexual Content.
**Language Warning.
**Dark humor.
**Reverse Harem.
**Series FINALE. (Read in order: Four Psychos, Three Trials, Two Kingdoms, and One Apocalypse. This book cannot be read as a stand-alone.)

REVIEW:

Paca's life goals have been stacking up since she was just a lonely ghost who wanted to be seen and heard. Now she has the fate of the world resting on her vain little shoulders. But Paca and her four Horsemen are no heroes.
So between learning how to take a hit without suffering, and trying to decide if she is going to help save the world or destroy it, she knows one thing. She will stop at nothing to make sure her horsemen survive. Otherwise she really will become THE Apocalypse.
They are a screwed up set of antiheroes and the only thing pushing Paca to even WANT to save the world, is the fact that if she doesn't she could lose her boys forever.
This is more than just an epic love story of screwed up proportions.
I was soooo in love with these characters since the beginning and I needed to see this through to find out how their story ends. The lust, to steamy sex to love. The suspense and forbodding to find out answers to questions that we've been asking since the beginning. This conclusion peaked and climaxed and brought on emotion I wasn't expecting. Another 5 maddening ⭐ out of 5 ⭐.
