Review: Beautiful Thorns

Title: Beautiful Thorns

Series: Boys of Bellerose

Authors: Tate James & Jaymin Eve

Release Date: April 2023

You know that saying, things can’t possibly get worse? They always can.

And they do.

It’s the last book of the series, you wouldn’t be here right now unless you were invested so just shut your eyes, hold your breath, and dive in.

It’ll all be worth it in the end.

Beautiful Thorns is book FOUR of FOUR in the Boys of Bellerose series. This is a mafia/rockstar reverse harem romance series with dark elements. This book does NOT end on a cliffhanger. Content is intended for a mature audience.

This is the conclusion of the Bellerose series.

Everything must come to an end. And this story is no different.

We will find out what happens to Billie and her boys.

And while this wasn't a favorite series of mine, I enjoyed it. I love rockstar romances, and dark romances and why choose romance and sometimes even Mafia romances- and this series had all of these tropes and more.

I loved these characters and loved getting the answers and closure for everything that has happened throughout the series.

It was a great read, and I don't know where I am going from here.

4⭐ out of 5⭐.

Review: Shattered Dreams

Title: Shattered Dreams

Series: Boys of Bellerose

Authors: Tate James & Jaymin Eve

Release Date: March 2023

You know that saying, things can’t possibly get worse? They always can.

I thought things were bad when we got attacked in the dark of the night. In a farmhouse in the middle of nowhere, with no one to help. When we lost one of the Bellerose family.

But the world wasn’t done shitting on us just yet.

Our situation only went from bad to worse as we tried to save ourselves, resulting in an explosion of heartbreak. Now we have to deal with the agonizing fallout of that fire-filled night.

Angelo Ricci--the man I severely underestimated--saved us all, but at what cost? He doesn't deserve to die for me. Not after all I’d put him through.

There’s no opportunity for grief, because the puppeteer pulling Bellerose’s strings wants the band back on tour with a brand new bass player. Like Flo never even existed.

Bellerose has been through so much already, and with gossip sites reporting on every damn breath, it’s impossible to keep our romances under wraps. Like we all needed fuel on the flames of already burning jealousy.

We need to come together, to grow stronger as a band, but with my heart so divided I’ll need some intense therapy to heal myself before I can heal all of them. Which I know I can do. I have to have hope. Because they’re the Boys of Bellerose.

Shattered Dreams is book THREE of FOUR in the Boys of Bellerose series. This is a mafia/rockstar reverse harem romance series with dark elements and gripping cliffhangers throughout. Content is intended for a mature audience.

Billie is trying to heal from past trauma and get on good standing with each of her men.

But can she forgive some of them for what they did?

And will the betrayal of a friend, be the death of Bellerose?

So I love a broken hero, one with baggage. And I finally started getting answers into some of their past lives. Finally. I have been dying to know more about them since the beginning. Along with that, we got almost a complete picture on what happened to Billie too.

But of course none of them could be happy for long- their past, their trauma, and their baggage isn't the only thing haunting them. They're being hunted, and still have no idea by who.

I am still fully immersed into this story, still in love with these characters and can't wait to read the conclusion of the Bellerose series.

Review: Dirty Truths

Title: Dirty Truths

Series: Boys of Bellerose

Authors: Tate James & Jaymin Eve

Release Date: Feb 2023

You know that saying, things can’t possibly get worse? They always can.

I thought I’d reached a whole new low the day I ran from Bellerose. The day I was snatched by mafia goons, beaten half to death, and left wishing they’d finish the job.

But then an Angel saved me.

His kind of salvation wasn’t the freedom I’d been hoping for, though. Two months later I’m his prisoner in the gilded cage of his home. His pregnant mistress.

Angelo Ricci--my Angel--holds my life in his hands. He’s both protecting me, and condemning me, and if his father ever discovers our secret deal then death will be a blessing.

I’m tired, and scared, and don’t know who I can trust. All I know is that I miss the boys of Bellerose. Grayson and Rhett still hold parts of my heart, even if I could happily kick Jace in the nu… face. And Flo? She’s dead to me.

Literally.

Like, dead dead.

Wormfood.

Fate takes a turn in my favor when Bellerose gets a new owner, and an unexpected opportunity to reconnect with the band is forced on me. Getting locked in a secluded farmhouse with the guys who think I left them for my abusive ex sounds like a recipe for bloodshed, but I don’t get a choice in the matter.

Except, this time I’m not going alone. Angelo is tagging along, and seems determined to cause drama. Somehow we all need to make it out alive, but that should be easy enough, right? After all, I’m Billie Bellerose.

Dirty Truths is book TWO of FOUR in the Boys Of Bellerose series. This is a mafia/rockstar reverse harem romance series with dark elements and gripping cliffhangers throughout. Content is intended for a mature audience. Please consult the warning at the front of the book if you have any content sensitivity.

So this book picks up where book 1 ended, & you have to read book 1 to know what is going on.

Angelo saved Billie when she was ran from Bellerose, taken by the Mafia and beaten almost to death. And he came up with a plan to protect her, again. She was a prisoner, caged in Angelo's house. His pregnant mistress, set to produce a heir to the Mafia family. And when Angelo's family buys out the company that owns the record label that owns Bellerose, Angelo, and Billie have to meet with them to make sure they are deep in recording their next album. Billie and her pregnant belly.

Only, their lives are sent into turmoil- and now they have to figure out whose past has come to collect on their debts.

Angelo- and his Mafia family has been a target for a new Mafia trying to take over.

Grey is now back in the debt of his family after requiring their help to keep an eye on Billie.

Rhett has been battling his dark past, spiraling after Billie left.

Flo was broke, in debt, and her relationship with Tom was what sent Billie running in the first place.

The only one who may not have any skeletons in his closet is Jace.

But everyone thrown together in close quarters, is a result for disaster.

Will everyone make it out alive?

Sooo, I'm still unsure how I'm feeling about these books.

On one hand- there are many tropes at play. Everything from rockstar romance, to Mafia romance to why choose and more, which is a bit overwhelming.

But it's dark with plenty of twists and turns and drama. And it's addicting.

I'm invested in these characters, intruiged about their pasts, and dying to know what will happen next.

Review: Poison Roses

Title: Poison Roses

Series: Boys of Bellerose

Authors: Tate James & Jaymin Eve

Release Date: January 2023

You know that saying, things can’t possibly get worse? They always can.

I thought I’d hit rock bottom when I turned sixteen. The day I broke my first love's heart, ending things before I could ruin his career as a rock star.

But damn, was I wrong.

Things got progressively worse from that moment on, until now. Eight years later, when I find myself homeless, jobless, covered in blood, and running from a ghost of my past.

Angelo Ricci--the second boy I ever loved--knows I saw him shoot a man. He’s coming for me, has men out all over the city looking for me, and if they find me I’m as good as dead.

But I’m not giving up so easily. I’ll do whatever it takes to escape the Ricci family’s wrath, even if it means seeking sanctuary with the most unlikely, and unwilling of allies.

Bellerose is the hottest rock band in the world right now--in popularity and looks--and it’s just my luck that I stumble into their laps while running for my life. It’s not the best plan to hide out on their tour, but it’s the best I’ve got.

Except, the only person that Bellerose’s frontman hates more than Angelo Ricci… might be me. Too damn bad. Jace owes me. After all, I’m Billie Bellerose.

Poison Roses is book ONE of FOUR in the Boys Of Bellerose series. This is a mafia/rockstar reverse harem romance series with dark elements and gripping cliffhangers throughout. Content is intended for a mature audience.

You know that saying things couldn't possibly get any worse? Billie proves that they definitely can.

She spent the last decade on the run- from her past, from not just one ex- but two. One ex turned out to become a famous rockstar, using their relationship as more than just inspiration to his fame. The other became part of the Mafia. So what were the chances she would run into both on the same day when her life spiraled out of control?

Running for her life from one ex, landed her in the lap of the others- and hiding out on the tour bus of the hottest band in the world. But she could take the hate from her ex, if it meant being safe.

But what happens once she responds the safety of the band she has grown to care for?

Sooo... I'm not quite sure how I feel about this book. Don't get me wrong, I'm addicted to reading it. I've loved some of Tate James other books, and this one piqued my interest.

But it has multiple tropes - from insta love to Mafia to rockstar to... Who even knows all rolled into one.

I'm not usually a fan of insta-love myself. Like you know nothing about each other but already in love? *Rolls eyes*. It's not my thing. But I LOVE a good rockstar romance, and why choose romance and I'm definitely intrigued enough to keep going.

They keep dangling the story of the past on what happened between the 3 that one faithful day, sprinkling little hints into the mix, just enough to give you a little something but haven't disclosed the full story yet. Not to mention, haven't gotten into the others past as well (which again, didn't expect because she was only there for a handful of days, who is gonna drop their life story in that time?) So I will keep going, because I want answers, and I want to know more about these characters & I cannot wait to see where the story takes us.

Review: Broken Wings

Title: Broken Wings

Series: Dark Legacy series

Authors: Tate James & Jaymin Eve

Release Date: March 2019

They rule my new town, my school, and with more money than God, there’s very little out of their reach.

Four gorgeous, perfect, scary boys. There used to be five, but one of them died, leaving a fifth position that I now fill.

I didn't ask for this. I didn't want to be part of this billionaire-boys-club. But no one cares about what I want.

Sebastian Beckett is the worst of them. Their leader. He draws me in, and strips me of every defense I have. He calls me Butterfly, but it's not a pet name, it's a threat. Beck wants nothing more than to break my wings, pin me to a board and watch me writhe.

He wants to see me broken. Body, heart and soul.

And what these elite want, they get.

Only they've never met Riley Jameson.

Let the battle begin.

**This dark romance features four sexy, dangerous boys but is NOT a reverse harem.**

When Riley's parents die in a car accident, she is uprooted from her life of barely being able to afford anything but loved and dropped into a world filled with more wealth than she can deal with, but hostility. Not just from her new parents either, but the guys who ran the school, and town that she was now apart of. The guys want to see her broken. They don't want her in their world. But Riley isn't one to do as she is told without question.

So, this book has been sitting on my TBR list for awhile. I loved the idea and blurb for this book and really wanted to love the story.

But the the flow of the story wasn't really working for me. I don't know if it was just how quickly Riley was accepted into the group, how the characters were hating each other one minute & she was in bed with one of the guys the next, if she was complaining about wanting to run & escape one day & literally be handed a way to do so the next only to be wondering why she was bc she felt like she was all in, in that moment (inconsistent for her character, I guess). Like I get it- she's in high school still, & hormones are high, there are threats around every corner & you don't know who you can trust. I just, I don't know.

If you go in without any expectations, it was a good read- I did enjoy it for the most part, while other parts had me rolling my eyes. And I did love the idea of the book, and will probably see where the rest of the series takes me - but over all, it was just an okay read. A filler to read between books. I feel some parts were rushed a bit too much, and the main lead didn't ask enough questions about the world she was dropped into (not that she got answers when she DID ask, but she didn't really dig for those answers either she just accepted what she was told)- which left the reader with little answers as well.

Maybe my book slump is slightly clouding my judgement some, and I'm too harsh. I mean, I did enjoy the book, & want to see more from these characters- but I just didn't fall in love with the book, characters whom we still barely even know, and the world (yet. That may change as the books progress & we hopefully learn more).

3.5⭐ out of 5⭐.

Review: Hellhound's Legion

Title: Hellhound's Legion

Series: Kit Davenport series

Author: Tate James

Join Kit and her new husbands as they face the high courts of Hell to answer for River's dual nature as a Hellhound.

This is an epilogue novella and it's strongly recommended to read the full Kit Davenport series, including the bonus scene in the box set, for context.

Hellhound's Legion is a Kit Davenport novella, where the Kit Davenport series, including the Fox Hole Novella MUST be read prior to this since Hellhound's Legion is a extended epilogue. (If you haven't read the series yet there may be spoilers ahead).

Kit and her guys decide to go on a much needed vacation after everything transpires, only danger seems to find Kit and her guys anywhere.

It seems the High Courts of Hell are ready to get River's Hellhound back... But surely, Kit won't just stand around and let anyone steal her husband away...

This was a quick & fun read. I liked seeing more from Kit and her guys but can't help to feel their story isn't over yet, and would love to see more from them.

Review: Kit Davenport Series

Title: Kit Davenport Series

Author: Tate James

They call me The Fox. I’m a thief. I’ve got superhuman strength and the ability to heal life-threatening injuries.

Who am I? But more importantly, what am I?

When a team of secret agents catches up to me, I finally have the allies and resources I need to chase down some answers. But the deeper we dig into my past, the more danger we find ourselves in. Traps and traitors are behind every corner. And suddenly it's not just my life on the line, but my heart too.

I'm Kit Davenport and this is my story.

** This is a Reverse Harem series intended for mature audiences. It contains sex, violence, swearing, death and more sex. #whychoose **

The Complete Kit Davenport Series contains:

#1 The Vixen's Lead

#2 The Dragon's Wing

#3 The Tiger's Ambush

#4 The Viper's Nest

#5 The Crow's Murder

#6 The Alpha's Pack

BONUS: The Fox's Hole

This set contains a bonus epilogue scene titled "The Fox's Hole"

The Vixen's Lead

So, going into this series I had no idea what to expect. I went in blind, having downloaded the series a while ago, and was just looking for something new to read, and having to have read a couple other books by Tate James before, I thought why not.

The Vixen's Lead starts off with you meeting Kit, a well known thief, and learning about her special abilities. When a team of secret agents catch up to her, she now finally has the allies and resources she needs to seek out answers to questions that have been plaguing her. But the deeper they dig, the more danger they find themselves in.

This book is packed with plenty of action and adventure between Kit, and her new friends- but the romance is a slow burn throughout. - in fact the series is (supposed to be) a RH but reading through book one you don't necessarily get that, yet (I mean there is SOME hinting, but I was only guessing and didn't actually KNOW before I copied the blurb for this review).

I have just been in a major book rut recently, that I can't seem to shake. And it's left me reading at a much slower pace, so I am debating if I should continue with this series or start a reread in prep for a new releasing coming out this month. (Normally I wouldn't have any issue knocking these books out with plenty of time to read the other books, but I really have been struggling).

But, overall the book was great. I would have loved to see more romance & intimacy between the characters, BUT I have no doubt it is coming (we are still VERY early into the time frame/"relationship" between them all). And I also cannot wait to learn MORE - about Kit & everyone else (her friend Lucy, and all the guys- Caleb, Austin, Cole, River & Wesley). There is sooo much more we don't know & I can't wait to learn more!

Plus trouble & danger seem to follow Kit around and I'm sure things will be heating up- not just outside, but in the bedroom too.

If you are looking for a paranormal RH romance, then so far, I definitely recommend the Kit Davenport series. Magic, danger, and a team of 5 men? What more could you ask for?

4⭐ out of 5⭐.

2🌶️ out of 5🌶️.

Warning, any reviews past this point may contain spoilers, so if you are planning to read these books, skip these reviews until after (unless you don't mind the spoilers).

The Dragon's Wing

So, I flew through book two in the Kit Davenport series. Things definitely heated up both outside of the group, and within in, just like I suspected it would. 😏

I didn't expect to fly through book 2 as fast as I did, with how much my reading slump has been affecting me lately, but so glad I did. I immediately dove in, after finishing book 1 in search of answers, and while I didn't get everything I was looking for, I got more than I thought I would.

Kit's life is still in danger, and she still isn't any closer to finding out her truths than she was in book one. She is struggling to figure out who she can trust, outside of her group of guys, and only going off instinct alone. But when her life, and the life of her guys in threatened multiple times, Kit's ability is tested.

Will Kit get the answers she needs? And will her bond with the guys be tested, or will it grow closer than ever? I honestly cannot wait to find out what else is in store for Kit, Caleb, Cole, River, Austin & Wesley!

4.5 ⭐ out of 5⭐.

4🌶️ out of 5🌶️.

The Tiger's Ambush

I quickly flew through book 3, and loved seeing the characters and story development & cannot wait for more. Each book ends on a slight cliffhanger, which of course drives me crazy because I need answers right away, so I throw myself into the next in hopes to get my answers only to be left with more questions by the end of the following book. 😂

That said, Kit and her men are again is in danger, and she's still seeking all the answers to the hundreds of questions - not just with who she and her men are, but with everything happening around her also. And now it seems, some of her guys may be keeping secrets from her. But when someone close to her betrays her, will she be able to recover from the betrayal, or will it be too much to handle? 4.5⭐ out of 5⭐.

4🌶️ out of 5🌶️

The Viper's Nest

So, as par of the other books, more questions were answered, and more revelations were revealed, BUT also more questions, dangers, and threats too.

I have been loving these books. They have been quick, fun reads, and I cannot wait to find out what happens next to Kit and her guys. Secrets come out, dangers around every corner, and questions that need answers. Kit and her guys can't catch a break- and they need answers to their questions to hopefully save themselves and all of the supernatural races before it's too late, but they get blindsided by a threat they didn't see coming. I cannot wait to find out how Kit and her guys will get out of this...

4.5 ⭐ out of 5⭐.

4🌶️ out of 5🌶️

The Crow's Murder

So this book was far more emotional than the last ones. It seems the bad follow Kit around, and her loved ones take the the most damage from it. Some questions were answered, while others popped up, but I was left with swirling emotions and I cannot wait to read the last book to find out how everything plays out. I have loved these books, and these characters and cannot wait to read the conclusion, but unwilling to part with them all so soon. Will Kit be able to save the world, or will she struggle to save herself and her men?

4.5⭐ out of 5⭐

4🌶️ out of 5🌶️

The Alpha's Pack

This was the final book in the series (minus the novella/extended epilogue). And everything that the other books lead up to finally came to a head. The battle between the two sides was happening weather Kit & her guys were ready- all were newly thrust into to the world of magic, and shifted, putting them at a serious disadvantage. And trying to build an army in a matter of weeks? Near impossible, not to mention trying to navigate a relationship between six guys, it's more than any one can juggle- but Kit isn't just any normal person- supernatural or not. Can her and her guys win the war, or will the end of the world rest on her shoulders?

4⭐ out of 5⭐.

4🌶️ out of 5🌶️.

Review: Vault

Title: Vault

Series: Madison Kate

Author: Tate James

Release Date: October 31, 2021

Vault is a Madison Kate Novella but is intended to be read after the Hades series as several events overlap and this story DOES contain multiple spoilers for the Hades series.

Please consult the recommended reading order for Shadow Grove World on my website if you are uncertain what order to read the books in.
This novella is set on a timeline parallel to the events of Club 22 and Timber.

Once again. This story WILL spoil the Hades series for you if you haven’t read or finished it prior to picking this up.

You’ve been warned.

Oh my god!

Vault is a novella from the Madison Kate series, that ties into the Hades series - & will give spoilers away so you MUST read both series first before grabbing Vault.

I honestly loved it! I loved seeing the Madison Kate characters again, & their side of things on what happened that day, & afterwards. I loved their relationship with each other, getting some back story with some, and what they did during their vacation. I don't want to give anything away, but if you love the Madison Kate series then you definitely need to pick up this book (after you read the Hades series of course)!! It may be short, and some of it may be sweet while some may be down right dirty, it's perfect to wrap up the Madison Kate series & give these characters some closure. 5⭐ out of 5⭐.

Review: Timber

Title: Timber

Series: Hades

Author: Tate James

Release Date: September 3, 2021

Timber is the FOURTH in a new Shadow Grove series. Several characters cross over to the Madison Kate series but it is not necessary to read MK's story first. HADES is a contemporary new adult reverse harem series, which means the leading lady has several love interests and never has to choose in order to find her HEA.

The blurb below contains spoilers for previous books. Don't read it if you don't want to ruin the story for yourself.

I mean it. Please don't spoil the story if you're not yet up to this book.

You've been warned.

♥♥♥

Betrayed.

My best friend, my right hand, the man I trusted above all others. Zayden de Rosa declared his love for me and pursued me until he shattered the walls between us. Then the man who loved me proved to be a traitor. I never saw that coming.

Abandoned.

My fierce lover, he died to protect me. Let me kill him and erase him so he could move in the shadows. He’s out there alone and he has no idea what’s happened. All he’ll know is that I’m not where I’m supposed to be. Something that might cost him his life for real. I have to trust him to survive on his own. He never saw that coming.

Framed.

My lighthouse. My lover. My Lucas. I love him so damn much and while I might be guilty of some crimes, the worst seems to be hurting him. The majority of what they arrested me for was a damn lie, but not that one. Hopefully the light he promised me will sustain through this time. We never saw that coming.

Enraged.

My ex is at the heart of this all. One assault after another. He didn’t break me before and he won’t break me now.

I’m Hades.

He’ll never see me coming.

♥♥♥

Timber is book FOUR of FOUR in the Hades series. This book contains scenes and content that may become triggering for some people and it is advised to proceed with caution. If you've got this far in the series, you're already well acquainted with the nature of the Hades plotline and can make your own educated guesses.

Wow, wow, wow!
So before I continue with my review, this is book 4 in the Hades series and the first 3 books MUST be read in order to follow along to everything going on, since this picks up immediately after book 3 ends!
Hades was her by a betrayal that cut deeper than any knife could, when she was stabbed in the back by her best friend and one of her lovers, Zayden. She was served up on a silver platter, not only to FBI custody but into the hands of her deranged ex. But Hades survived him once before, she wasn't going to let him break her again. Not this time. She has something to live for. But that is easier said then done. Especially since Cass and Lucas have no idea where she ended up. Especially since Cass was deeply in an undercover mission, and Lucas might hate her for her betrayal and lies. Especially since Hades might truly be alone.
But one thing that her ex didn't count on was Hades fighting back.
Seriously, I looooved this book. After the ending of book 3 I desperately needed to read this book & get answers. I needed to find out why Zayden betrayed his best friend, and needed to see if Hades would survive. I related to some of what Hades has been through, and needed her to overcome it, come out the other side stronger then ever before. And Hades has definitely been through hell, not once but twice with no end in sight for the assults. She was a bada** boss b* & didn't let her past or what she had been through deter her. She was mf Hades, goddess and ruler of the tristate area, and had three men who worshipped and loved her beyond belief. Their love didn't make her soft, or weak. It made her stronger. Strong enough to rain down hellfire on those deserving, including her psychotic ex.
Seriously, I needed to read the Hades series to help pull me out of my slump. It had everything in it, from angst, drama, suspense, to hot sex. It had insta-lust, friends to lovers, rivals to lovers, and crazy ex's. If you are looking for something dark, twisted, gang affiliated, and a RH because why choose one love interest when you can claim all, then these are the books for you! What's better then guns, violence, and sex? 4.5⭐ out of 5⭐.

◆◆◆

They say to keep your enemies close and mine are all around me. At the heart of it are four dangerously gorgeous men. The man who wants to light my darkness and already paid the price for loving me. The man who can handle my power and loves every dark inch of me. The man who has been my closest companion and now threatens to upend our carefully balanced world in pursuit of me.

But the fourth man is probably the most terrifying. He wants to take the others away. He wants to tear the spinal column out my empire. Destroy my businesses. Destroy me.

Why?

Because the man who should have stayed dead wants me and he will stop at nothing until he’s carved out my bloody, beating heart and left me broken.

He should remember who he’s dealing with…I’m not the girl he knew anymore.

I’m Hades.

This time when death comes for him, I’ll make sure it sticks.

Oh. My. Goodness. I am at a loss for words. I just can't handle the ending of Club 22 & cannot wait to jump into Timber!
Club 22 takes place after Anarchy & you must read the Hades books in order to understand what is going on.
They say to keep your enemies close, which isn't a problem for Hades, since her enemies surround her. But at the heart of it all, there are four dangerous men. The one who can light her darkness, the one who has already paid for loving her, her closest companion, and one who should have stayed dead instead of coming back to haunt Hades with the past and torment her with mind games.
Hades not only has to navigate her relationships with three men, but deal with her persisting ex and all the trouble he's caused since reappearing back in her life.
But above all, guard her heart, and herself, because there will be secrets dug up that could damage more than just Hades reputation and businesses.
I'm still trying to push through a wicked book slump so this book took me a bit longer to get through then I would have liked, but otherwise I definitely loved it. I loved the darkness, the angst, the sex, and the suspense. I am dying to get answers, and find out what the heck is happening in Shadow Grove & finish up this series! It's been one crazy wild ride from the start and I can't wait to see how everything plays out and ends after everything that went on in this third book! Seriously, I am currently in a state of WTF right now, and I need answers! 4.5⭐ out of 5 ⭐.

Review: Anarchy

Title: Anarchy

Series: Hades

Author: Tate James

Release Date: March 2021

Anarchy is the SECOND in a new Shadow Grove series. Several characters cross over to the Madison Kate series but it is not necessary to read MK's story first. HADES is a contemporary new adult reverse harem series, which means the leading lady has several love interests and never has to choose in order to find her HEA.

◆◆◆

Five years ago, I made a choice that I haven’t regretted a day since. I protected the single most important person in my world, my little sister. I protected myself, and I seized control of the Tri-state Timberwolves.

Since then, I’ve wielded that power with an iron fist. Done whatever it took to take care of my people. Kept us out of the public eye, and kept us safe.

Now a ghost from my past is threatening my position. Challenging me. Peddling their poison and breaking my rules. Stabbing at me in the dark.

Blowing up my fucking club.

But this last attack has taken it one step too far. They have no idea the lengths I’ll go to protect what is mine. And Lucas? He’s mine.

They want anarchy? They haven’t seen anything yet.

Anarchy is book TWO of FOUR in the Hades series

What?! WHAT?!
So I need to sleep because I got to get up in the morning for my daughter's first day of school. Except I ended up finishing this book AND NOW NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPEND NEXT?!
This book is book 2 in the Hades series & book 1 MUST be read first to follow along.
Hades is head of the Timberwolves, but what she didn't expect us not one but two very different guys who she may be falling for. But, Hades doesn't do emotions, especially when her past is coming back to haunt her. Trust doesn't come easily for the head of the trip state gangs, but what happens when that trust is broken?
So, I didn't mean to finish this book tonight, honest. I just planned to read a little before bed, but I hadn't realize how close to the end I was... Until there was no more pages. The ending was definitely unexpected and still has me reeling. Now I am debating whether to try and sleep (probably unlikely) or start the next book to try and get answers?! Bc HFS that ending!!! Talk about a mind f. 4⭐ out of 5⭐.

Review: 7th Circle

Title: 7th Circle

Series: Hades series

Author: Tate James

Release Date: January 2021

Five years ago, I masterminded the infamous massacre of the Tri-state Timberwolves.

The streets outside the Wolves HQ ran red with the blood of the old guard, and not one of those members loyal to my father were spared mercy. Not a single one.

I let the media twist and distort the story. My new recruits eagerly proved themselves in spreading false news, in covering our tracks. To the general public, the Tri-State Timberwolves were extinct.

But that couldn’t have been further from the truth. We changed, we grew, we evolved and came out stronger than ever. Now, I live, eat, sleep and breathe Timberwolves. I’ll do anything to keep my empire safe and thriving. To keep the people depending on me safe.

So, what do I do, when it’s my own weakness that places us all in danger? When I let sex cloud my judgment, and my people pay the price?

Simple. Kill the distractions.

I’m called Hades for a reason, after all.

So, I have been in a huge book hangover for over a week now. I'm talking couldn't get into any thing. I picked up a book got 2 paged in and put it down book hangover.
But I have been dying to read these books after I read Madison Kate series... I just didn't want to start them and then be left waiting for answers until the fourth book released. Well it's out and I grabbed up this book.
And now... I am invested and need answers and cannot wait to start the 2nd book 😂😂
Hades is the head of what is left of the Timberwolves. For the most part they have gone underground and are legitimate. But she is still one of the most feared people in the Tristate area, thanks to the Timber wolf massacre. But she will do whatever it takes to keep her sister Seph alive. And the best way to do that is to stay on top. Eliminate any threats quickly.
So what is Hades to do when the threat is a ghost from her past?
Hades is the crime-boss for the tristate area. She is tough, doesn't take no shit, and powerful. She doesn't show weakness or vulnerability. She's young at only twenty three, but with what she has been through you wouldn't know it. So when she was rejected by the guy she wanted for years, she impulsively jumped on the first hot guy to make him jealous. It just so happened that guy was a stripper at one of her bars. He made her feel young and alive and her age again. Things she doesn't normal get to feel in her line of work. But with her work, just her being around him puts him at risk. And dispite it all, he is fairly innocent and knows nothing of the gang world that she grew up in.
I loved seeing a woman in power- and Hades had it. She was powerful, but there was more to her then just her job title. I loved seeing the dynamic between her and her best friend and second & can't wait to see what goes on between them, let alone the guy whom she likes that rejected her and more of her with the male stripper.
I loved seeing her with her sister too & their relationship together.
And loved the brief glimpses we got of the characters from the MK books!
I cannot wait to read more & find out what happens next in this series!! 4⭐ out of 5⭐.
