Title: Cracked Kingdom
The Royals series book 5
Author: Erin Watt
Blurb:
These Royals will ruin you.
Ever since Hartley Wright met Easton Royal, her life hasn’t been the same. There are enemies behind every corner and dangers beyond each door. When tragedy strikes and steals her memories, she can’t trust anyone, not even the blue-eyed boy who promises her that everything will be all right.
Because while Hartley’s memory is full of gaps, her instincts tell her Easton is dangerous. She doesn’t know if he’s the snake in the garden or her chance at salvation. The chaos he brings wherever he goes is too much to handle, the intense feelings he evokes are too confusing to unravel.
Easton wants her to remember. Hartley thinks it’s better to forget.
She might be right.
Tragedy. Treachery. Trust. Hartley has to face the facts—in this world, you can’t escape the Royals. Either you live by their rules or you die by them.
Review:
Cracked Kingdom is book 5 in the Royal series- and it is recommended to read books 1-4 before beginning book 5.
Book 5 follows Easton and Hartley, and continue immediately after book 4.
After Tragedy, and Hartley's amnesia, she is forced to try and figure out who she could possibly trust in this world. And Easton Royal doesn't even make the list. Hartley has enemies everywhere she turns, and dangers constantly lurking around every corner- who can she lean on for help with gaps in her memories?
Easton is torn with wanting to be with his family, or Hartley during this difficult time. And with people whispering lies in Hartley's ears, how will he ever get her to trust him when there is so much at stake.
Everyone knows if you can't live by the Royals rules, then you will die by them- so what does that mean for Hartley?
I honestly loved Easton and Hartley's story and journey. It was great seeing Easton grow from the immature teen he was to becoming an adult when he needed to. Along with the dangers, there was revelations made. This book made me feel all the feels- from fear, happiness, saddness, and hope and everything in between. I loved the ending, and i would love to read more about the Royal family. I give this story 4.5⭐ out of 5⭐. Reed will always own my heart, but I loved Easton, and loved this story.
