Review:
"Written words have the power to punch you in the gut and knock the air right out of you if they are delievered correctly."
Alec received a letter from one of his old friends Rhett, who he hasn't seen in years. Rhett got himself in trouble and asked Alec to take care of his daughter. Alec hasn't seen Makayla since she was 10. And now she is all grown up and Alec doesn't think he can resist the temptation.
"We were not in a fairytale, and I was not the hero."
This book has all the makings of the Top Shelf series. And even though it isn't my favorite (Villains and Vodka still holds that top spot), i really did enjoy it. I liked seeing Makayla & Alec's relationship play out. I give it 4⭐ out of 5⭐. It was a great dark read.
