Review: Four Day Fling

Title: Four Day Fling
Author: Emma Hart
Release Date: July 24, 2018
Blurb:

A standalone romantic comedy of epically awkward proportions, from New York Times bestselling author, Emma Hart.

Imagine this. You’re ready to leave after a one-night stand, and you’re figuring out how to—shock horror—leave your number and ask him to be your fake boyfriend for your sister’s wedding this weekend. When he wakes up. Well, that happened to me. And over coffee and omelets, I found myself a date.

Which was how I ended up arriving at the wedding with a guy I knew nothing about. I didn’t know his last name, or how we met, or how long we’d been dating. I didn’t know where he grew up, what he’d majored in in college, or how many siblings he had. I sure as hell didn’t know he was Adam Winters, hotshot hockey player—and not only my father’s favorite player, but my little nephew’s freakin’ idol. Which means I’m in trouble. Big, big trouble. My mother is suspicious, my sister is bridezilla on crack, and my grandpa will tell anyone who’ll listen about his time in Amsterdam’s Red Light District. Four days. I have to keep this up for four days, and then Adam and I can return to our regular lives, where we don’t have sex whenever we’re alone and my family aren’t interrogating him over his intentions with me.

At least, that’s the plan. And we all know what happens to those.

Review:
Emma Hart is a new to me author and I have to say- why haven't I picked up one of her books before now?!
Poppy wakes up from a one-night stand into awkward territory. Invite the almost-complete stranger to her sisters wedding this weekend to be her fake boyfriend. What could possibly go wrong?
Poppy is awkward, sarcastic, and a spitfire. Her mom maybe Satan herself, her sister is this close to becoming bridezilla- and she walks in with Adam who she had no idea was a celebrity hockey player- but her hockey crazed family knew.
Adam plays hockey and travels seven months out of the year. He landed himself in a bar - and a one night stand with the only person he has met who didn't recognize him. He had to have been crazy to attend this strangers family wedding... Surely a four day fling shouldnt be too hard, right? Can both Poppy and Adam walk away unscathed at the end?
This book was funny, light, fun, flirty and the perfect summer time read. It was loaded with sarcasm, sex, and a whole lot of awkward and crazy moments that a huge family get together can bring. I love books that can pull out emotions and I enjoyed this one immensely for pulling out the humor. It was such a great read- once I picked it up I couldn't put it down. If you are looking for a light, fluffy, rom-com then I definitely recommend this book. I loved the characters, the story, and all the awkward crazy moments that were thrown into the mix. 5⭐ out of 5⭐.
