Jennifer was the most successful recording artist in the world, until everything came crumbling down, after being betrayed by her boyfriend. She's hit rock bottom, and it seems the media want to keep it that way. When she thinks things couldn't possibly get any worse, she meets Finn, an up and coming rock star in a bar. Finn makes her forget about her ex boyfriends betrayal and makes her laugh for the first time in weeks.
But in Hollywood, it seems that gossip and drama are never too far away. Can Jennifer rebuild her career, or is she forced out of the business? And Will Jennifer take a chance on the handsome and charming musician she just can't seem to forget about, or will her betrayal hold her back from possible happiness?
Superstar was a new take on the Hollywood trope. I love reading rockstar romances and the Hollywood trope from time to time, and this one fit just that. It follows Jennifer Sparks, a recording artist who finds out the media and public like to kick 'em while they are down, so to speak. After being betrayed and humiliated by someone she thought she could trust she has hit rock bottom after the scandal breaks news. Even though Jennifer is a big star, she is still so down to earth, and friendly, and even through some of her worst times she seems to handle it well. She's not only talented, but strong to have been what she has been through and not just quit the business. Finn, is also part of a band, who are making the charts in their own right. He can be coming and sweet when he wants to be, but also has a humor about him, and a michevious side. He is also more down to earth, the fame or money not getting to him, and a family man- being close with all of his brothers and mother. They may not have met at the best of times, or under the best conditions, but Finn was persistent. Their relationship was cute, and sweet, but being in LA there is always some scandal or gossip.
It was a fun, light, read. It had be swooning at times, and tearing up at others. I loved Finn and Jennifer together. This was the first book I have read of Vicky's, and I can't wait to see what she has in store for us next! 4⭐ out of 5⭐
