Review: Still of Night

Title: Still of Night
Author: Emily Goodwin
Series: Thorne Hill Series
Release Date: Nov 13

They say the truth will set you free, but now that I know the truth about who I am, I feel more trapped than ever.

As if keeping my forbidden relationship with a vampire secret wasn’t enough, I have to hide my true identity from the world. If word gets out on who—on what—I am, angels and demons alike will rage a war for me.

No pressure or anything, right?

Not all hope is lost through, as I have powerful allies—a whopping two, to be exact—who think maybe we have a chance at proving my life is worth saving, that I’ve made it this far without being tempted to the dark side.

That I’m good.

But then again…even the Devil was once an angel.

So I have been in a HUGE book funk these past couple months. But this book right here helped pull me out (only to possibly throw me right back in, haha).
This book picks up right where Call of Night leaves off- so YES you do need to read the first three books before jumping in to Still of Night.
After Callie learns some truths about her, her and Lucas must decide how of if they are going to proceed with their relationship- since it is against the law for witches and vampires to be together. And to top it off, someone wants Callie dead, again. Plus if you think your family has drama, you don't have anything on Callie's. The truth of her relations has her questioning if she really is good, or may become evil.
As always Emily has left me wanting more. I LOVED Lucas and Callie's story. And I cannot wait to see what happens next.
Lucas is not only sweet, kind, and caring, for being over a thousand years old- not letting the world harden him- but he's also a fierce protector of those he cares about, and will rip out the throats of those who cross him without even thinking twice.
And Callie is still badass. She is stronger now then she's ever been, still wanting to do what is right- for those she cares about, and for herself- even if that means giving up something she loves.
I need more of Lucas and Callie's story. More of Thorne Hill, of the vampires, witches, and demons. I fell in love with this world and cannot wait to see how the rest unfolds. If you love the paranormal I highly recommend you pick up these books! 5 fang-bearing ⭐ out of 5⭐.

Reread: Broken Bonds

Title: Broken Bonds  Series: Bonds That Tie  Author: J Bree Release Date: June 2021 After the death of my mother and her Bonded, I was relieved to find my own Bonds. I was sure everything would be okay if I had them. It wasn’t. The fate of our people is in my hands and I know we’re better off if I’m alone. After five years on the run, I’m caught and dragged back to face the men I ran away from. I thought I was doing the right thing. Now, I’m not so sure. North, Nox, Gryphon, Atlas, and Gabe may never forgive me but one thing is for sure.
