Oh. I'm at a loss for words. I absolutely loved loved loved this book. And yes, I did cry more than once while reading it.
Death. The final horseman to make his way through the world after Pestilence, War, and Famine failed to wipe out humanity. Thanatos leaves trails of death and destruction in his wake. It's his duty to kill the humans around him. Until her.
Lazarus cannot die. She survived Pestilence's plague. Survived her throat being slit, her neck snapped, and shot with an arrow. Thanatos' task may be to make human kind parish, but Lazarus made it her mission to do whatever she can to stop Death.
Mortal enemies, they fight each other at any given moments, while battling their desires for one another. Death wanted to take Lazarus for himself the first moment he laid eyes on her. Lazarus made a deal with the other horsemen to try and seduce Thanatos to stop him from taking lives everywhere he roams. Can Death be stopped, or is the end of days upon the world at last?
Death was an amazing end to a great series. It not only moved me to tears, but also had me laughing at times too. I enjoyed Thanatos & Lazarus story. Enemies on opposite sides of battle- on if humans are worth saving- turned lovers. So much death and destruction, and the apocalypse- humankind resting in the balance on if Lazarus can seduce death. But the longer she is with him, the harder it is to fight her own desires. But can she forgive him for all he has done, and continues to do? Was their relationship doomed from the start?
5 death defying ⭐ out of 5⭐.
