Ok for real. This book. THIS BOOK. THIS FREAKING AMAZING BOOK. I don't even know how to explain it you guys, but I will try.
So I was in a huge book slump before I started this book. I'm talking massive. I have barely read anything so far this year, and I just couldn't shake it. And going into this book... I didn't know what to expect. And at first there was a couple minor details that pulled me out of the story (-it was a me thing. The nickname & one of the birthdays were the same as my daughter's. So in moments I should have been lost to these characters & involved in their story... I was thinking about my 7 year old). - so I was disappointed because I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE Meagan's books and was beating myself up because how can I fall in love with this book, these characters and this story when the only thing that comes to mind is my kid?!
Well, I need not have worried. Because THIS BOOK. It delivered. I stayed up waaayyy too late reading it, only to have to get up a little over 2 hours later to get my daughter ready for school. Now here I am. I am still at a loss for words.
This book was AMAZING. Like Fan-Freakin-Tastic! It is friendships, and first loves. Heartache- God... I cried. But it was also healing, and freeing and just everything. It was Every-flipping-thing. Honestly, I don't want to give too much away because it is best going in blind and expierencing every thing on your own. These characters, their journey, this story. I devoured it. Couldn't put it down. And definitely definitely DEFINITELY recommend it. Seriously, drop everything and GRAB THIS BOOK!!! Because you don't want to miss it.
Also, you get little sneak peaks of the Fumbled Hearts/Defenseless Hearts crew, so while your waiting for this book to drop, go grab those (or the box set) today if you haven't read them already.
Meagan... This. This right here is why you are my favorite author. I fall in love with your books, the words, the story, the characters, the feelings that are pulled out of me when I'm lost to a journey that isn't mine. And this book... God this book. It killed me. It damn near broke me. But in the best possible way. This morning I woke up feeling like I get hit by a mac-truck after last night. But also healed too. And I will probably need a day or two to recoup before my next read. This book is a masterpiece, overflowing with heart & emotion & so much more. This book is more. More than I ever thought it could be. I just... Don't know what else to say. But holy freaking cheese balls Batman. I loved it. I loved this book. 5 where do I go from here ⭐ out of 5⭐.
