Review: Dear Heart, I Miss You

Title: Dear Heart, I Miss You

Series: Silver Springs

Author: Eliah Greenwood

Release Date: July 2022

He walked away after I nearly lost my life.

Now he’s back, and he wants a second chance.

The day Finn left town is the day our promises went up in flames.

But it’s been a year since the accident, and I’ve made promises to somebody else…

I’m certain I’ve moved on. Until the night I unknowingly climb into bed with him.

The next thing I know, I’m right back where I started, watching my walls crumble under feelings I spent
ages trying to bury.

Finn may be different now—with new tattoos and new secrets—but his goals are the same.

He wants
me.

Whatever it takes.

Problem is, he's not the only one who's changed since that night.

And the sweet, forgiving girl I used to be?

She's not coming back.

This is book 2 of a completed duet!

So after reading Dear Heart, I Hate You I needed to read Dear Heart, I Miss You because I needed answers. I needed to know what happened with the characters and the ending of their story. And... I don't know what to think.

After the accident that nearly cost Dia her life, Finn just walked away. Disappeared for a year without a word. Dia moved on. Or so she thought. After accidently climbing into bed with Finn, her walls that she built begin to crumble, her will wavering. He may be different, but his goal is the same. He wants her back. The feelings she once had are still there buried under the anger and hurt. Can Dia forgive Finn or is their relationship dead in the water?

So, like I said, I don't know what to think, so bear with me while I try to work through everything.

Diamond may have changed after the accident that nearly cost her life. But in the end she does what she always does. Goes back to Finn. Forgives him.

Finn may have grown, and worked on bettering himself, but I liked him better when he was the toxic boy from before.

Their relationship was toxic from the start. Dia went back to Finn over & over again, regardless what he did. Lie, keep secrets, believing he cheated, being the reason she almost died again & again. Whatever he did she forgave him.

Overall the story was okay - it was filled with drama and angst. The story wrapped up nicely, and the characters got their HEA. And although this wasn't a favorite read, and I was annoyed at how easily Dia forgave Finn again, I did appreciate that despite the hell the characters have been through they got a HEA in the end.

Review: Dear Heart, I Hate You

Title: Dear Heart, I Hate You

Series: Silver Springs

Author: Eliah Greenwood

Release Date: February 2022

It all started with an ad.

"House sitter needed for the summer, free room and board."

Guess I missed the part about the cocky basketball player sleeping down the hall...

Finn Richards is hot, cruel, broken beyond repair. Oh, and did I mention hell-bent on making me quit?

Whatever. It's not like his charms work on me, anyway. I'm immune to his cold, hazel eyes, and I'm not even a little bit curious about what really happened that night.

Who cares that I let him take my first kiss?

Who cares that I'd give him all of my firsts if he just asked?

It's just two months. I can definitely go two months without giving him my heart, too...

Right?

So I finally decided to pick this book up after finishing book 1 back in April 2021. I needed something to keep me from falling into a slump and this sounded just right.

Dia agrees to house and dog sit for the Richards family over the summer, because she needed the money. What she doesn't expect is for Finn to end up home early because he got kicked out of basketball camp. Finn tries to do everything he can to get her to quit because he hates her. But she is more stubborn than he is, and isn't budging, otherwise she could kiss her chance of getting a car goodbye. But what happens when the lines between them blur?

So let me just say, enemies to lovers? Sign me up! I loved the drama - and wished the pranks between the characters lasted a bit longer than they did. I loved Finn in all his brokenness. - he may have been a delinquent bad boy to everyone but he was still hurting and grieving from his mother's death. And he wasn't as bad as he may have hoped to come off as. Dia was sweet and innocent - except she was one of the only ones who called Finn out on his crap & didn't take it either. This book was a whirlwind from start to finish & I can't wait to read the next book to find out what happens next for these characters.
