Review: Drive

Title: Drive
Author: Kate Stewart
(May contain Spoilers)

Synopsis:

Music . . . the heart’s greatest librarian.

The average song is three and a half minutes long; those three and a half minutes could lead to a slow blink, a glimpse of the past, or catapult the soul into heart-shattering nostalgia.

At the height of my career, I had the life I wanted, the life I’d always envisioned. I’d found my tempo, my rhythm. Then I received a phone call that left me off key.

You see, my favorite songs had a way of playing simultaneously. I was in love with one man’s beats and another’s lyrics. But when it came to the soundtrack of a life, how could anyone choose a favorite song? So, to erase any doubt, I ditched my first-class ticket and decided to take a drive, fixed on the rearview.

Two days.

One playlist.

And the long road home to the man who was waiting for me.

Review:

So what can i say about this book, that hasn't already been said a hundred times?
This book was amazing & i absolutely loved it! I am a very emotional person, and when i fall, - whether in real life, or over music, or fictional characters,- i fall- Hard. I know what its like to feel too much, too hard, too strongly.  I have a deep love for music, and songs, and lyrics, and words- and moments. And i have a deep love for books, and stories, and characters. And this book had both.

This story followed Stella, and her love of music, and her trying to find herself. And i will be damned if i didn't feel it. If I didn't hear the songs playing in my head as I read them on the page (didn't listen to them, yet. Hard to listen to a playlist at 2 am when everyone is asleep.)
Stella recounts her tale, of her love of music, of her finding herself, and of her falling in love. And when she should be living on a high in her life, in her career, a phone call brings her right back to all the memories, she has yet to let go of. So, instead of taking her flight home, she drives, listing to the playlist, the music, that holds all her memories- and she relives it all- finally letting go.
It was an amazing story. And I loved the music that goes along with it. And I loved Reid. God, I loved Reid.

I am so sorry if my thoughts are incoherent. This book... It just speaks to me on so many different levels. And if you haven't read it yet, I recommend that you do so. 5⭐ out of 5⭐. I loved this book.
