Review: Free the Dark

Title: Free the Dark
Series: Elwood Legacy Trilogy
Author: Nicola Rose

The world is descending into devastating chaos. There’s a new enemy to mankind on the horizon… it’s me.

I’m ready to let go of morality. It’s time to play.

But how much ‘fun’ is too much when you’ve accidentally triggered the vampire apocalypse?! Are there any lines left that shouldn’t be crossed?

There’s a brand new hunger under my skin, and it wants more. More of Alex’s darkness, more of Zac’s light—

The two don’t go together, but that doesn’t stop the pull in my chest, or the ravenous shadowy beat that strikes a constant melody in my soul, driving me forward, destruction in my wake.

Can I really side with vampires and stand by as humanity is lost?

Because once that darkness is set free, pulling it back might be beyond my capabilities…

Read the darkly delicious conclusion to the Elwood trilogy today!
From slow burn paranormal romance to vampires bringing humanity to its knees – this is one thrilling ride you don’t want to miss!

Authors Note: Contains strong language, violence, and a high heat rating. Dark content may offend some readers.

Review:

*This is the conclusion in the Elwood Legacy trilogy and Taste the Dark and Burn the Dark MUST be read first.

Jess has let go and embraced the darkness with Alex, living on the mantra of blood sex fire and death for weeks, accidently bringing forth the vampire apocolypse. But nothing and no one will get in her way and stop her. Not even Zac, who is always there. His light not far from where Jess and Alex leave destruction and chaos in their wake. But something under Jess's skin wants more. Will all be lost, or will Jess be able to reign in her darkness, and save the vampire and human race from extinction?

This book was the conclusion to the Elwood trilogy, and got darker and dirtier than the first two. Bringing forth an apocolypse, the world in a frenzy of destruction, chaos, and war Jess has to decide if she wants to continue on with having her feelings buried, and thriving in the darkness and fun of being a new vampire-witch hybrid, or to flip the switch and let in her feelings and the light and find some morality. The love triangle is still very much in play- she undoubtably loves Alex, but the bond between her and Zac is still present. Now the trio has to face off not only with the unfinished business with the Bael, but also the humans and the catastrophic consequences of the Morena Legacy. Will they survive, or will the apocalypse doom them all? I loved loved loved this story and how everything played out. Alex was still my favorite, and the war within himself. I have a thing for assholes, alphas, & bad boys and Alex fit that perfectly. Especially since he was a vampire. And Zac still warred with his beast even after the events of book two. And Jess grew into her own. Owning her vampirism, and powers. Taking control. These characters have owned me, filled me up, and left me wanting more. Amazing finale to an amazing trilogy. 4.5⭐ out of 5⭐

Weekly Newsletter: February 2

Hope everyone has a good couple weeks. I know it says weekly Newsletter & I know I have been taking two weeks each time to put out one 😂😂 I *want* it to be every week, but January is just super crazy over here. - but we'll see once things settle down some if it will stay every other week or if I switch to every week or not 😂😂.  This week, I got my preorder of Onyx Storm in (bday present), and we did my daughter's 10th bday party- she did bowling & invited a ton of friends! She also had a field trip to go skiing earlier in the week too which she liked.  Also here are the vibes I bring to the function but truthfully I probably won't go to the function - I am an introvert & don't people very well 😂😂 but it was a fun challenge to do on IG & TT either way. Do we share anything in common?  What I Read This Week:  Title: Onyx Storm  Series: The Empyrean  Author: Rebecca Yarros Review | Goodreads | Purchase Quote: “I am yours and you ...

So this past weekend my aunt passed away.  But on a more positive note, this was my daughter's last week of school. She had half days all week and now she is home for summer break until after Labor Day in September.  And I finished up two books. Weekly Newsletter - June 13

As my daughter's school year is winding down, they are trying to cram more things in it - from chorus concerts, to a play, to fun days, and field trips and parties... So it's been a bit hectic.  Also, last Thursday went to run errands before my daughter's chorus concert, & to grab Leather & Lark from Walmart (live in a small town. Walmart is the only place to buy books locally). And they were completely sold out 😭 So I ordered it online (Amazon "2 day shipping" still takes a week 😒). Plus I got a book last week - only UPS left it in a puddle. 😭 We were all home. Could have knocked or even honked or SOMETHING - but no. So also waiting on the replacement for that was well.  Also, I tried to convince my husband we needed to go to B&N in NYC (which is like 7 hours south of us give or take 😂😂) to meet Brynne Weaver to no success.  Annnddd... I tried the challenge of getting my husband to buy my wishlist for me for likes on social media... He wouldn...
