Review: a Court of Silver Flames

Title: a Court of Silver Flames

Series: ACOTAR series

Author: Sarah J Maas

Release Date: February 16

Blurb:

Nesta Archeron has always been prickly-proud, swift to anger, and slow to forgive. And ever since being forced into the Cauldron and becoming High Fae against her will, she's struggled to find a place for herself within the strange, deadly world she inhabits. Worse, she can't seem to move past the horrors of the war with Hybern and all she lost in it.

The one person who ignites her temper more than any other is Cassian, the battle-scarred warrior whose position in Rhysand and Feyre's Night Court keeps him constantly in Nesta's orbit. But her temper isn't the only thing Cassian ignites. The fire between them is undeniable, and only burns hotter as they are forced into close quarters with each other.

Meanwhile, the treacherous human queens who returned to the Continent during the last war have forged a dangerous new alliance, threatening the fragile peace that has settled over the realms. And the key to halting them might very well rely on Cassian and Nesta facing their haunting pasts.

Against the sweeping backdrop of a world seared by war and plagued with uncertainty, Nesta and Cassian battle monsters from within and without as they search for acceptance-and healing-in each other's arms.

I don't even know where to begin.
I pre-ordered this book because I had to have it. I have the ACOTAR upon my shelf, and loved them. And although Nesta wasn't my favorite character, after reading that bonus chapter I wanted to see where her and Cassian would go, and Nesta's journey after the ACOTAR books.
But then I stalled. I took my time getting to the book. As much as I had to have it... I didn't pick it up at first. Again, Nesta wasn't my favorite- I didn't hate her but I didn't love her either. I didn't really care what happened to her. She was cruel.
I had time between books so I decided to finally pick this one up. And let me just say... I fell in love with it. With Nesta's journey. With her and Cassian's story. And, with her herself. I didn't realize I would like her so much after everything she has done. But I do.
I also loved seeing all the characters from the inner circle- and the new characters as well. Loved seeing glimpses of the ones we know and love, and learn about the new characters and get glimpses into their lives and journeys as well.
And the new threats that were pressing down upon them. Can Nesta and the inner circle survive it?
I cannot wait for the next books in this series. I love it all. The fantasy, the adventure, the romance, the drama and the emotions that these stories envoke. 5⭐ our of 5⭐.
