Review: Wicked Gods

Title: Wicked Gods

Series: Gifted Academy

Author: Michelle Hercules

Release Date: August 2019

Nowhere is safe when the gods are wicked.

Since the beginning of times, there have always been two sides: Norms and Idols.

But never have the scales been so unbalanced as they are today.

I’m a Norm, which means, I grew up in fear of the Idols and their godly powers.

And now, I’m going to be surrounded by them, day and night. I’ve been offered a place at the prestigious Gifted Academy, an opportunity very few Norms get.

To survive, I must become invisible. But my hope to get through the academy unscathed goes down the drain when the most powerful boys in school set their eyes on me.

They hate me simply because I’m a Norm. If they knew who I truly am, they’d tear me apart limb by limb. But I’m done cowering away from Idols. It’s time for the Norms to fight back, and it all starts with me.

*Wicked Gods is a steamy, paranormal academy RH bully romance.

So I need more and cannot wait to start book 2 in the Gifted Academy series!
There is a divide in the world between the Idols and the Norms. Idols are those who have powers, the higher their power scale the closer to the gods the myths claim they decended from they are. Norms are the humans in the world. And fringes fall in between. Idols hate those who are less than them. Weaker. Insignificant. They will kill without mercy or remorse.
Daisy is a norm who ended up on a scholarship to Gifted Academy, a school catering to the prestigious Idols and Fringes, after struggling to keep her and her sister alive for years. But after an incident at the diner where she worked and a run in with four top Idols, she now has a target on her back. The four top Idols may not be the only ones who want Daisy dead. Can Daisy survive the school year?
This book was interesting. I can't wait to find about more about each of the characters, and what is going on- with each of them, and the school, and the bigger picture.
Daisy is a human, a norm. She doesn't have any powers. She barely has been scraping by her whole life taking care of her younger sister.
Rafio is a strong but ill-tempered Idol. He is ready to kill Daisy the first moment he laid eyes on her.
Bryce is Rafio's older and stronger brother. He is normally more level headed then Radio and his friends, and the voice of reason.
Phoenix is ready to see Daisy's downfall and humiliation. Norms shouldn't be on Idol's radar but for some reason, Daisy had piqued Phoenix interest.
Morpheus doesn't hate Norms or fringes like they were all taught to do since a young age, but they never are worth his attention either way. He is forced into close proximity when he needs a tutor.
The four Idols and Daisy may find themselves in over their heads, when feelings get involved, on top of everything else that is happening. Overall it was a good story & I can't wait to see what happens next, and learn more about each of the characters! 4⭐ out of 5⭐.
