Hello everyone, and happy Sunday. How was your week? And what did you do this weekend? We went to the beach yesterday with the mini. Had some BBQ, played in the sand, collected shells, and played on the playground. Last weekend we went to the zoo & stayed in a hotel so that's why I didn't post- but I am back with another book tag for you.
I got this Tag from Thrice Read - it looked like a lot of fun- and you can check out her blog and post here.
Want to check out the original post? Thrice Read found the tag on Book Tube on Kate's Book Date, you can check out her post here.
Now, onto the tag!

1. The awkward first date – a book where something felt off. It wasn’t a bad book, but lacked that spark for you.
Part-Time Lover by Lauren Blakely. It wasn't a bad book but there wasn't that spark that made me fall crazy in love with it either.
2. The cheap first date – book that turned out less than you expected
Carnage by Lesley Jones. Everyone raved about the book. And usually when a book is so hyped up I am timid to go into it (seriously it took me the full 20 years to pick up Harry Potter because of the hype). It just didn't work for me. Others that fall in this catagory include Me Before You, and Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children.
3. Well-prepared first date – better than expected
So, I try not to go into any book with expectations since I have started opening up more and not being so picky about what I read. So it's a huge disappointment when I am let down. BUT when I am blown away? That is an amazing feeling. And Crowned With Guilt by S.K. Rose did that. Seriously I cannot recommend this book enough if you haven't read it yet.
4. Hot but dumb – pretty book, not so hot on the inside
The Real by Kate Stewart. I loved Drive. I liked Sweeping the Series (sports romances are either hit or miss with me). So this one didn't live up to what I had hoped it would.
5. Blind date – book you picked up not knowing anything about it
There are loads of books I do that with. Like I said I am trying to be more open about what I read and venture out of my comfort zone. But a few that I recently picked up without knowing anything about include Spider by Ilsa Madden-Mills (total cover buy), Filthy Gods by R. Scarlett, Sundays are for Hangovers by K Webster and J.D. Hollyfield, and Traitor by Alyson Santos.
6. Speed dating – book you read super fast
Some days I fly through books. Other days (like recently) I drag through it- not because the book is bad. I went through a bunch of arcs that were due back to back so to read a book without a deadline has been great. Plus, I have been busy, and just tired haha. Cheat Codes by Emily Goodwin was one of the last books I read through quickly. Along with Traitor by Alyson Santos.
7. The rebound – a book you read too soon after a book hangover and it kind of ruined the book for you
Maybe Filthy Gods by R. Scarlett. I did read it after reading a Court of Frost and Starlight by Sarah J Maas. It sometimes is hard to jump back and forth between genres like that. Plus the main charscter's name bothered me. (Dont get me wrong i love the name- It is the same as my daughters- which is where the problem lies.)
8. Overly enthusiastic date – a book that felt like it was trying too hard
Maybe Gods and Monsters by Saffron A. Kent. It was just another book I couldn't get into myself.
9. The perfect first date – book that did everything right for you
A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas is one that I absolutely loved. LJ Shen's books (Vicious, Ruckus, Midnight Blue, and Bane) Drive by Kate Stewart, Crowned With Guilt by S.K. Rose and the Royals series (especially the first 3) are just a few of the books that were perfect in their own way & I absolutely loved them!
10. Humiliating first date – book you’re embarrassed to admit you liked/ embarrassed to see reading in public for whatever reason
I am honestly not too embarrassed by any of my books. I don't see the point-blank as long as someone loves reading that should be all that matters, not shaming or making them embarrassed about what they read? I will admit to liking twilight, and FSOG 🤷 I read across the board in genres everything from YA, Fantasy, Dystopian, to NA, Romance, Contemporary, and Erotica Soo 🤷🤷 why should I be embarrassed? 😂😂
