Trademark Cocky?

So, by now i am sure loads of you have heard something or other about Cocky.
If not, don't feel bad (I just heard about it last night.)
Apparently there is an author who decided to trademark the word Cocky in reference to books/series in the romance genre (targeting indie authors) all the way back to 2016.
She has been threatening to sue authors, have been going to Amazon & audible about copyright infringement etc.
Basically, trying to make it a living hell for other authors, and bullying them.
Why? Because of her "Cocky series" about the Cocker brothers. (She claims that having Cocky in the title will confuse her fans having them buy another work other then her own. So either a) she's basically insulting her fans calling them dumb for not knowing the difference or b) she isn't memorable as an author. Sheriously has ANYONE heard of her before this??) She has 18 books out and i have never once heard of her or her books (18 "brothers"? Seriously, the mom needs to keep her legs closed also, the characters look nothing alike- the dad better get paternity tests done because she probably had kids with the milk man, cable guy, and plumber...). Was there a chance I would have read her books before this? Yeah, probably. Is there a chance now? No say in hell. She couldn't even pay me to read them now.
This isn't the 8th grade, you are not Regina George.you can't pull the "you can't sit with us" card. Because what in the fuck are you trying to accomplish in this?
You are not going to get any new fans this way. You are going to lose some of the fans you currently have. And you will lose all respect in the indie-author & romance community- from authors and bloggers alike.
The reason I love blogging & indie-authors is being apart of an amazing community that loves books, stick together, and support one another. But every now and then there seems to be some crazed person out to get others. Instead of supporting & building them up, they decide to try to tear others down & the community apart.
What is going go happen once this whole thing blows over? Because at this moment every one seems to be talking about it (maybe it was a publicity stunt?) She isn't going to be remembered. Hell, no one has heard of her before this, but after this? It will be #Faleenawho?
So do everyone a favor and just shut the hell up & get the fuck outta here. #byefeleena no one wants to deal with your petty drama, so get the fuck over yourself.

(Google Cocky Trademark for more info.)

For those of you who want to help cancel the cocky trademark here is a petition you can sign:

For my author friends here is some info you maybe able to use:

Authors who have been threatened with legal action by Faleena Hopkins can contact Carol Ritter (carol.ritter@rwa.org) as the RWA is now collecting info to talk to an IP lawyer. Spread the word! #romance #cocky
