Review: Teardrop Shot

Teardrop Shot
By Tijan

Blurb:
I asked for his criteria for bed buddies-that's the PG version.
He swore at me and said he didn't do groupies. And just like that, our friendship was off to a great start.
Reese Forster was the starting point guard for the Seattle Thunder.
Gorgeous. Cocky. Loved by the nation.
He's also attending preseason basketball training camp where I used to work.
Correction: where I work again, because I was fired from my last job.
And dumped.
And I might have a tiny bit of baggage, but that's normal. Right?
Reese and I shouldn't have become friends. We shouldn't have become roommates.
And we really shouldn't have started sleeping together ... (Except we did.)
I'm adorably psychotic. He's in the NBA.

This is not a disaster waiting to happen, at all.

Review:
Charlie is dumped and lost her job all on the same day. When her friend rolls into town, her suggests heading back to work at camp for a few weeks. Her old stomping ground with her friends. She decides why not. She just wasn't ready for all the questions after shutting people out for years. Charlie doesn't get personal, doesn't get serious. She's all for cracking jokes, and having fun.

While at camp she meets Reese Forster. Only one of the Seattle Thunder basketball members- and she's a huge fan. After getting off on an awkward foot, they slowly become friends. And then more. They both have baggage, and are from different worlds. There isn't anyway this won't end in a diaster.

The book. This book brought so many emotions. I laughed. I cried. I loved every second of it. It was real, and raw. It was awkward and even a little crazy. Charlie's past has been holding her back. Even a year later and she's still torn up about it. So meeting with friends and hanging out is just something she needs. But meeting her idol, Reese? That wasn't something she would ever think would happen. And the crazy questions that fall out of her mouth like word vomit? Not awkward or embarrassing at all. Charlie is quirky, weird, and maybe a little crazy. And Reese is a professional basketball player. There is no way that a friendship should even work between the two, let alone form. But it does. They get to know one another on a deeper, personal level. Reese makes her come alive after Charlie had shut down for so many years. And Charlie helps provide a little bit of a distraction from the issues Reese's brother is causing. I loved every second of this book. It was fun, made me laugh, but also emotional and made me cry. If you are looking for an amazing sports romance, then this is the book for you! 5⭐ out of 5⭐
