Review: Vicious Prince

Title: Vicious Prince

Series: Violent Kingdom series

Author: Lili St Germain

Release Date: May 2018

An arranged marriage. A brutal abduction.

And a love so forbidden, it might destroy them both.

Avery Capulet is missing.

Taken by a madman. Kept in the dark.

She might not survive.

He’ll use her body. Destroy her mind. All before he ever lays a hand on her.

Rome Montague is a drug dealer. A criminal. A thief.

And he needs the secrets Avery and her family are keeping – even if it means cutting them out of her pretty Capulet flesh.

Rome Montague is missing – but nobody will miss him.

Not that it matters; After the things he’s done to this girl, he doesn’t deserve to be found.

Vicious Prince, set in the criminal underbelly of San Francisco, follows two warring families who are ruled by blood, power and twisted desire.

"Love isn’t always a happy thing. Sometimes it’s a dirty habit, a vice that makes you miserable with need. A desperate addiction that threatens to kill you in every moment that you spend apart. There’s no happiness in love when you know it has an expiration date. Only an anxious, gnawing grief of a future you both already know, a day when you’ll be forced apart. Avery and I knew our time was finite. Our story’s ending was hurtling toward us at the speed of light. We just thought we had more time."

Let me preface my review by saying this is the first book by Lili St Germain that I have read. I had this book on my Kindle for awhile, downloaded it because the cover & title caught my eye. So I went in with zero expectations. I haven't been reading too much the past year with everything going on, so I was pleasantly surprised with how much I liked this book. And wished I had the money to buy the next book because I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS NEXT!!

Note: Trigger Warning. It's dark, bloody,  and brutal.

If you like Romeo & Juliet-esque romance, & dark, mafia style romance then I def recommend these books (yes it's a series. No I haven't read book 2 yet- but it's best to have book 2 at the ready! Don't be like me 😂😂).

Avery Capulet lives in a more money then she could spend in her life-time, heavily guarded, arrangeed marriage world. Her father has shady businesses, marriage is just another transaction, and whatever he says goes. But what happens when Avery Capulet, a last name who strikes fear into people, and has people submitting to do whatever is demanded, no questions asks, goes missing? Her body is used, her mind destroyed... And she might not live to see morning...

Rome Montague is a drug dealer, criminal & thief. Fresh out of prison living in the burned down house next door to the Capulet's. A hate that has festered for years between them. He needs the secrets that Avery and the Capulet family are keeping... Even if it means cutting them out of pretty little flesh. Rome Montague is missing... But no body will miss him. After the things he's done to Avery, he doesn't deserve to be found.

Seriously I loved this book!

Avery lived in a world that was heavily guarded. Her father had businesses legitimate and otherwise. She had known loss. She was surrounded by guards. And did what her Daddy said. But when he arranges a marriage for her she wants nothing to do with her soon to be husband. No one dares mess with the Capulet name... So who stole Avery away in the middle of the night?

Rome lived in a world that was light-years away from Avery's even though they lived right next door to each other. He wasn't rich beyond measure. He was a criminal. But his family's much like the Capulet's, with businesses and secrets. With loss, and grief. And with hate in their blood. Rome isn't someone who will be missed.

I wasn't entirely sure what I was getting into picking up this book. But the title and cover intrigued me, and I impulsively downloaded it to my Kindle. Which is where it sat for weeks before it caught my attention while scrolling for a new read. If you like dark mafia romance then grab up this book. It will leave you on the edge of your seat, and wanting more! 4 ⭐'s out of 5 ⭐.

Weekly Newsletter: February 2

Hope everyone has a good couple weeks. I know it says weekly Newsletter & I know I have been taking two weeks each time to put out one 😂😂 I *want* it to be every week, but January is just super crazy over here. - but we'll see once things settle down some if it will stay every other week or if I switch to every week or not 😂😂.  This week, I got my preorder of Onyx Storm in (bday present), and we did my daughter's 10th bday party- she did bowling & invited a ton of friends! She also had a field trip to go skiing earlier in the week too which she liked.  Also here are the vibes I bring to the function but truthfully I probably won't go to the function - I am an introvert & don't people very well 😂😂 but it was a fun challenge to do on IG & TT either way. Do we share anything in common?  What I Read This Week:  Title: Onyx Storm  Series: The Empyrean  Author: Rebecca Yarros Review | Goodreads | Purchase Quote: “I am yours and you ...

So this past weekend my aunt passed away.  But on a more positive note, this was my daughter's last week of school. She had half days all week and now she is home for summer break until after Labor Day in September.  And I finished up two books. We started rewatching Dexter, and watching season two of Perfect Match.  What I Read This Week:  Title: Leather & Lark Series: The Ruinous Love trilogy Author: Brynne Weaver   Release Date: June 04 So I love these characters, but this story had a lot of fluff, and at the end felt a little rushed. 4⭐ out of 5⭐.  See Full Review Here .  Title: Lights Out  Author: Navessa Allen   Rereleases August 06, 2024  I thoroughly enjoyed the book. Weekly Newsletter - June 13

As my daughter's school year is winding down, they are trying to cram more things in it - from chorus concerts, to a play, to fun days, and field trips and parties... So it's been a bit hectic.  Also, last Thursday went to run errands before my daughter's chorus concert, & to grab Leather & Lark from Walmart (live in a small town. Walmart is the only place to buy books locally). And they were completely sold out 😭 So I ordered it online (Amazon "2 day shipping" still takes a week 😒). Plus I got a book last week - only UPS left it in a puddle. 😭 We were all home. Could have knocked or even honked or SOMETHING - but no. So also waiting on the replacement for that was well.  Also, I tried to convince my husband we needed to go to B&N in NYC (which is like 7 hours south of us give or take 😂😂) to meet Brynne Weaver to no success.  Annnddd... I tried the challenge of getting my husband to buy my wishlist for me for likes on social media... He wouldn...
