Review: Fate of a Royal

Title: Fate of a Royal

Series: Lords of Rathe

Authors: Meagan Brandy & Amo Jones

Release Date: July 7

From USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestsellers Meagan Brandy & Amo Jones comes Fate of a Royal, a brand new spicy paranormal romance featuring fated mates and a possessive OTT hero.

Blurb:

“You will go to Rathe University, live among the giftless and those of light magic. You, Knight Deveraux, will learn to coexist.

I’ve never heard more wasted words in my life. Then again, the gifted counsel never did have much to say that wasn’t. The only members amongst them who speaks a thing worth listening to are my parents, the King and Queen of the Stygian’s, the people of Dark Magic.

Unfortunately for me and my brothers, they’ve chosen to play nice instead of sinking their talons into everyone who dares demand a thing of their heirs. In this instance at least.

Every gifted is forced to leave our realm behind after graduation to spend the next four years in a world that isn’t ours while pretending it’s enough for those with something deeper clawing beneath their skin.

It isn’t. Not by a long shot, and while it’s as boring as I thought it would be, we find ways to entertain ourselves.

A little Fae Dust, the power of persuasion, and it’s a party worthy of a royal or four.

That was fun the first year, but it’s my second now, and the minute I got back to campus, I knew it would be worse than before. I felt it, that pull buried beneath my skin, the whisper of a warning deep in my mind I could hear but couldn’t reach.

It starts with a human party and ends with a fucking problem.

A five foot, white haired one.

With eyes like ice and a body begging to be bitten, she’s a problem.

A giftless one.

That’s right, she’s human.

Worthless.

And if the shadow circling my soul is telling me what I think it is … she belongs to it.

My new obsession … is my fated mate.

But there is no way the fates would give me, a Lord of Rathe, a heir to the throne of dark magic, a giftless girl.

I’ll prove they got it wrong.

That she’s not mine.

If I’m lucky, I’ll destroy her in the process.

Oh my goodness- what did I just read?!

Knight and his brothers are sent to Rathe U- a school full of his kind, but living among the giftless as part of his training. Knight and his brothers are Lords, set to rule their kingdom when the time comes. But what Knight doesn't expect, is a five foot human to snag his attention. Little does she know, she becomes hos newest obsession... But what Knight never expected was this giftless human, being his mate. Now he's set on proving to the fates, that they were wrong, even if it means destroying her in the process.

Seriously you guys!

So if you don't already know I love Meagan Brandy's books- she's my unicorn author. I've fallen in love with everything she has put out. I also love Amo Jones she writes dark worlds that I love getting lost in, so hearing that these two teamed up for a paranormal/urban fantasy book - I was dying to get my hands on it. And they did not disappoint.

The world is a mix of contemporary and fantasy- perfect if you are new to reading fantasy or if you love diving into fantastical worlds frequently. There's magic but so much more and loved watching the world unfold throughout the story.

I fell in love with the characters- Knight's mate always felt like something was missing in her life. Knight & his brothers were brooding, possessive, over the top, dark and delicious.

And in true Amo fashion, you don't know everything that is going on, until she is ready to reveal it, but when she does it's everything.

I loved this story, this setting and these characters, and I cannot wait for more of this world!

4.5 ⭐ out of 5⭐.

4🌶️ out of 5🌶️. - detailed scenes throughout including kinks, dirty talk, etc

Reread: Broken Bonds

Title: Broken Bonds  Series: Bonds That Tie  Author: J Bree Release Date: June 2021 After the death of my mother and her Bonded, I was relieved to find my own Bonds. I was sure everything would be okay if I had them. It wasn’t. The fate of our people is in my hands and I know we’re better off if I’m alone. After five years on the run, I’m caught and dragged back to face the men I ran away from. I thought I was doing the right thing. Now, I’m not so sure. North, Nox, Gryphon, Atlas, and Gabe may never forgive me but one thing is for sure.
