Review: The DM Diaries

Title: The DM Diaries

Author: Teagan Hunter

Release Date: July 2, 2024

Falling in love with a guy like this is easy. Finally meeting him is a different story in a funny, flirty, and emotional romantic comedy about celebrity, secrets, and plus-sized dreams.

Olive O’Brien is a plus-size influencer with half a million followers and big dreams. And she’s feeling the pressure to stand out while staying true to herself. To cope, Olive finds solace in an unexpected place: the DMs of Jasper Rafferty, the world’s hottest movie star, where she feels safe to share her hopes, fears, and secrets because it’s not like he’ll read them. Until he does. Kind of.

Career-wise, Jasper’s younger brother, Jude, is in free fall. After an interview gone wrong, Jude now has the thankless job of managing his brother’s social media accounts to help reboot his own image. Olive’s messages are unexpected, and her wit and vulnerability catch his interest. How can “Jasper” not respond? And how long can Jude keep up the ruse?

As the DMs get flirtier and more personal, the bigger question is what’ll happen when Olive finds out she’s fallen for a fraud. It might not be what either of them expects.

Oh my goodness!

So I have been in a huge reading slump for about a month now. No matter how many books I picked up I ended up putting them down after a few pages not able to get into or enjoy any of them. But this one finally broke through.

The DM Diaries.

Olive is a rising plus-size model who loves her job, but is trying to stand out in her world. So she finds peace in an unexpected place. The world's hottest movie stars DM's. She had been sharing her hopes, dreams & life with Jasper, because he doesn't read them, he doesn't even work his own social media pages - so what's the worst that could happen?

Jude is trying to make a comeback in the world of acting. He never hit it as big as his brother Jasper and then took a break to go to college. But after an interview gone-wrong his publicist tells Jude to take over Jasper's social media in hopes to gain publicity of connecting to two together. But Jude stumbles upon DM's. He shouldn't read them. They aren't for him. But they are something real in the world of fake. And then he responds as Jasper.

As the DM's get flirty and more personal, will Jude be able to keep up the ruse? And what will happen when Olive finds out she is starting to fall for a fraud?

So- I loved Olive. She was real. She followed her big dreams to the city. She was brave but also vulnerable. She was sassy and didn't take crap from anyone. She stood for what she believed in- even if misses out on high profile jobs because of it.

Jude likes acting, but doesn't like all that comes with it. The interviews and being on the go go go. He wants something real in the world of fake.

The DM diaries brings the humor & wit Teagan is known for - along with plenty of DM and texting banter. It's cute, and funny and has some steam. I loved every second of it, and couldn't put it down. So if you're looking for a celebrity romance that brings the charm and laughs, this is the book for you.
