Jan 2nd 2026 Newsletter
Hey everyone! Hope everyone had a good holiday 😊!!
So it's been awhile since my last newsletter. - I'm unsure if this will be a weekly, bi weekly or monthly thing yet, bc it's a lot of work, but we'll see what the year brings. But let's start the new year with a Meet The Reader
Hi, my name is Natasha - my bday is January 3rd! I am a mom, & reader. I have a 10 - almost 11- year old daughter who also loves to read & a dog named Skye & a cat named Sunny and 4 goldfish. Besides books I also love Supernatural, Nightmare Before Christmas, Batman, Marvel & Disney. My favorite season is Autumn & I love Halloween. You will most likely catch me listening to 2000's punk or emo music or other 90s-20s music - I rarely listen to music newer than 2015.
I am a mood reader - meaning I am constantly picking up & putting down books trying to find something that hold my attention,& I will read anything from YA/NA, to fantasy, romantasy, romance, dark romance, paranormal romance, why choose & everything in between. Fav tropes include enemies to lovers, bully romance, rivals to lovers, brothers best friend, step siblings, touch her & die, who did this to you & forced proximity among others. My fav series of all time is Ruthless Boys of The Zodiac by Caroline Peckham & Susanne Valenti, fav authors include: Meagan Brandy, Shantel Tessier, Teagan Hunter, Emily Goodwin & SK Rose.
You can find & follow me on blogger, tiktok, Instagram, threads, tome, Goodreads, & Storygraph.
Let me know something about yourself & if your new here, hi!
Now some recent updates:
Between stressing over the one small present we got daughter (Target lost it in the mail & then I called to get it replaced & it was out of stock & the price was $10 more than when we originally bought it. We finally got it Christmas Eve though!), the school shutting down two days early & being under investigation bc of the "punishment boxes" they found on campus - thus the kids missing out on their parties & secret Santas (don't get me wrong - they def deserved to shut down & some of the board members let go bc WTF was that shyt?! - but I feel like the way the school shut down was basically a way to get back at the parents & kids) & my own mama drama (she called me up Xmas eve wondering what time we were showing up for Xmas - which is the first i heard of her wanting to do Xmas ON Xmas since my brother & sister were working this year. Last I knew no one knew what day we were supposed to go bc of that. MIL had asked weeks ago if we could go there for brunch Xmas morning so we were going to MIL in the morning (it's always been a first come basis w us & usually MIL works around my mom's schedule bc my mom lets us know weeks in advance not the day before). If my mom didn't come in throwing a massive fit we could have definitely worked something out - but no, I'm basically the b- daughter who ruined Xmas this year. So needless to say the past couple weeks have been STRESSFUL. (She pulled issues last year with my brother as well). And to think my bday is tomorrow too - so we'll see what happens there - but we also are now in planning mode for daughter's bday coming up later this month! But hopefully everyone had better holidays than we did 😅
Overall the year has been a bit rough but here's looking forward to hopefully a better year! Thank you to Cara & Riley who sent books so my daughter had something's to open Xmas morning, & again to Cara & Riley for the books, Kindle case & stickers for me for Xmas/my bday, thank you Teagan Hunter for the Xmas card and stickers inside & thank you to whomever sent the Tales of Magic box set by Chris Colfer for my daughter too.
How many books did you read in 2025?
Did you meet your reading goal?
What was your favorite read of 2025?
I was in slumps on & off all year. It has definitely been rough & while I hit my low goal (I always set my reading goal low - something I know I can hit regardless how life is), I still didn't read as many books I would have liked (still proud i hit my goal though).
