Review: the Fall of Troy

Title: The Fall of Troy
Series: Odyssey duet
Author: Dr. Rebecca Sharp

Blurb:
From bestselling author Dr. Rebecca Sharp comes an enemies-to-lovers epic romance with a forbidden twist...
Love is angry. Love is blind.

Love is envious and loathful.

And I loathed Léo Baudin. My new art professor. My enemy.

I didn't move to Rhode Island for this. I came to forget the Troian Milanovic I'd left behind and start fresh where the damage and betrayal couldn't follow.

But Professor Baudin wouldn't let me.

Cold. Caustic. Captivating. He didn't just push my buttons...

He lit them all up with the indifferent smirk of an aristocratic French asshole.

But how much I loathed him only made my need for him stronger.

To have him would be either victory or loss. There would be no compromise.

To have him would be war.

So I fought back.

But I was Troy. And he was the wooden horse, full of dangerous secrets I never saw coming.

I was the one who invited him inside my walls, celebrating without seeing through his disguise.

And under the cover of darkness, he laid siege to my body, my mind, and finally, my heart.

The first may be a myth, but this time the history books would show that if Troy fell, it was with her all.
The Fall of Troy is the first book in the Odyssey Duet
.

Review:

Troy moved to Rhode Island to get away from the damage and betrayal. To start fresh. She enrolled into collage with an art elective with a teacher from France who is teaching for a semester. A very hot, brooding, teacher that she can't stop thinking about- even if he is a prick. Leo is cold and calculating and captivating. When he is near he is all Troy can think about, all she can see. She loathed him, but she needed him. She had to have him. Will Troy reign victorious in their battle? Or will history repeat it's self with the fall of Troy?

This was a delicious slow-burn forbidden student/teacher romance with a hint of enemies to lovers.
Troy was betrayed and hurt by someone who should have loved and cared for her unconditionally. So she moved away, and closed off, keeping mostly to herself. She went from wanting to major in science, to wanting to find herself, and going to school for art. She found solstice in poetry, and loathing, lust, desire, and more in her art teacher.

Leo came from France, his career, and reputation barely hanging on by a thread. He was angry, damaged, hurt, and broken. His love of art clouded by his hurt. The only thing he expected was to teach the imbeciles at the school, and drink himself into Oblivion. What he didn't expect was Troy. She fought him at every turn, and stirred something in him that he though had been long buried in the damage of his past. He shouldn't want this... Couldn't want this. She was his student after all. But she wanted nothing else. Can two broken souls be mended, together?

If you love enemies to lovers and slow burn romances, if you love the taboo of student/teacher romances then this book is a must read. The emotions and hurt of both characters is so raw and palpable, you feel them as your own. It grips your heart, and buries deep into your core. Their chemistry, lust, want, and need for each other will have you craving more. I cannot wait to find out what happens next in Troy & Leo's story. 4.5⭐ out of 5⭐
