Review: Lords of Pain

Title: Lords of Pain

Series: the Royals of Forsyth University

Authors: Angel Lawson & Samantha Rue

Release Date: February, 2021

I never claimed to be a good girl, but I definitely never asked for this.

Killian, Tristian, and Rath.

These three men are a part of my past--one that I'd rather never look in the eye again. In high school, they knew my secrets and I knew theirs. They had power and I had nothing. The night everything fell apart, my stepbrother allowed his two best friends to take their rage out on me while he watched. While they laughed.

But what happened that night wasn’t my biggest secret. So I ran, planning on never coming back.

Three years later I’m standing on their doorstep like a stray. They’re more powerful than ever now, having risen to the rank of Lords at Forsyth University. But I’m still on the run and there's another monster chasing me down.

What could bring me back into their lives, their homes, and ultimately, their beds?

Fear.
Shame.
Desperation.

Killian, Rath, and Tristian aren’t the only ones who want me. There’s someone far more dangerous out there who's been stalking me since I left town the first time. Someone who makes the evil I know feel less dangerous than the evil I don’t.

But being their Lady is more than just fancy clothes and reputation.

I might be under their protection, but I’m also at their mercy.

And there's nothing a Lord loves more than taking control.

Wow! First, let me say there is some content that may trigger you, it is a dark bully romance so check the content if you need to going in.
Killain, Rath, & Tristan are cruel, vicious and mean. They hurt others for fun. And in high school had Story in their sights. Exploited her secret to get her to do what they wanted. Until she ran.
But fear and desperation are enough to send Story back into the arms of the very guys who abused her. They may be cruel, and she may still have nightmares of their past together, but they aren't the only thing she fears. So if becoming the Lady to the Lord's and being at their mercy is the price to pay for being safe, then she will gladly pay it. Because it's better the evil you know, then the evil you don't.
So, for me getting into this book was a little slow, but I started while I had a book hangover from a previous read, and then I was sick. But I pushed through, and boy was I glad I did. If you love dark bully RH romance and step brother romance then you need to pick up this book. It was dark, and twisted. Story was sweet, innocent, and even naive at times. The guys were cruel, and every bit as messed up as I love them to be. (I never said I was sane). It was such a great read, and I cannot wait to find out what happens next in this story, and with these characters.
4.5⭐ out of 5⭐.

Weekly Newsletter: February 2

Hope everyone has a good couple weeks. I know it says weekly Newsletter & I know I have been taking two weeks each time to put out one 😂😂 I *want* it to be every week, but January is just super crazy over here. - but we'll see once things settle down some if it will stay every other week or if I switch to every week or not 😂😂.  This week, I got my preorder of Onyx Storm in (bday present), and we did my daughter's 10th bday party- she did bowling & invited a ton of friends! She also had a field trip to go skiing earlier in the week too which she liked.  Also here are the vibes I bring to the function but truthfully I probably won't go to the function - I am an introvert & don't people very well 😂😂 but it was a fun challenge to do on IG & TT either way. Do we share anything in common?  What I Read This Week:  Title: Onyx Storm  Series: The Empyrean  Author: Rebecca Yarros Review | Goodreads | Purchase Quote: “I am yours and you ...

Weekly Newsletter - June 13

As my daughter's school year is winding down, they are trying to cram more things in it - from chorus concerts, to a play, to fun days, and field trips and parties... So it's been a bit hectic.  Also, last Thursday went to run errands before my daughter's chorus concert, & to grab Leather & Lark from Walmart (live in a small town. Walmart is the only place to buy books locally). And they were completely sold out 😭 So I ordered it online (Amazon "2 day shipping" still takes a week 😒). Plus I got a book last week - only UPS left it in a puddle. 😭 We were all home. Could have knocked or even honked or SOMETHING - but no. So also waiting on the replacement for that was well.  Also, I tried to convince my husband we needed to go to B&N in NYC (which is like 7 hours south of us give or take 😂😂) to meet Brynne Weaver to no success.  Annnddd... I tried the challenge of getting my husband to buy my wishlist for me for likes on social media... He wouldn...
